“Welcome to the world, Atticus James Buckingham
Born earthside on June 6th, 2025, weighing 9 lbs 12 oz.
As much as we prepared for a home birth, you had different plans and that’s okay. After hours of laboring at home, your dad and I made the decision to transfer to the hospital, knowing it was the best choice for both of us.
Even though our plans changed, our incredible midwife, Neta, never left our side. From the hours spent laboring at home, to the car ride to the hospital, and all the way through your birth she was there. She advocated for me when I couldn’t, stood by me through every moment, and welcomed you into the world with the same love and care she’s shown throughout our journey.
Your birth is a beautiful reminder that no two stories are the same, no matter how much we prepare. What I’m most thankful for besides your safe arrival, is the unwavering support of Neta, who has cared for us through three pregnancies and in the process, become part of our family.

Your birth was nothing short of powerful. So powerful, in fact, that it gently shifted our plans from a birth center birth to a peaceful, grounded home birth.

It was breathtaking to witness your mama surrender so fully to this transformative journey. With each contraction, her eyes softened…I could see the doubts, fears, and worries dissolving.

She stepped deeper into trust - trust in her body, her intuition, and her own strength.

She discovered what so many mothers find in birth: that the power of the body far exceed the noise of the mind.

And in that sacred surrender, you came Earthside - calm, strong, and surrounded by so much love.

I’m so honored to now be part of The Nest in Addison — a space filled with heart, healing, and holistic care.

I’m deeply grateful to share this space with a village of holistic caregivers who support families from pregnancy to pediatrics and beyond, such as , , .dpt, , , acupuncture with Dr. Tai, pediatric speech therapy with and more!

This building holds a very special place in my heart. My midwifery journey began here, with — my first preceptor and my own midwife during my pregnancy. Returning now as a licensed midwife feels like coming full circle.

Meet Jo ✨✨ The day you were born, I walked into your home and there was power in the air.

Your great-grandma sat steady, like the quiet keeper of wisdom. Your grandma and your dad moved in sync, holding your mama through every wave. Two aunts waited in the living room, their hearts racing, ready for that first cry. And in the next room, your big sister slept, dreaming, while the world shifted to make space for you.

Four generations of women, same bloodline, same fire, filling that house with a strength you could almost touch. it carried ancient wisdom! Oh, I loved it so much!

I’m Neta, a home birth midwife and the founder of Wise Womb Midwifery.

I was born and raised in Israel — a land full of contrast and complexity. It’s a place where ancient tradition and modern life meet, where intensity lives alongside tenderness. Growing up in that environment shaped me. It taught me to hold space for both strength and softness, for challenge and surrender.

That land made me compassionate. It taught me how to listen deeply, to stay present through the raw and the real. And those lessons now guide me in the sacred work of midwifery — sitting quietly, watching, trusting, and only stepping in when truly needed.

I believe that women hold deep, innate wisdom — that your body knows how to birth, and my job is to protect that knowing, not interfere with it.

My own births — messy, powerful, beautiful — and my journey through motherhood have taught me more than any textbook ever could. They cracked me open, humbled me, and made me the midwife I am today.

This work is about trust. It’s about presence.

Sweet Nia, you reminded us of the deep power in surrendering and trusting.

Your mama was doing all the things to encourage you to join us earthside.
At 41+1, she walked into my office with a blissful smile and few tears in her eyes.
She said, “I’m done trying. Whatever will be, will be.”
And at 41+2, you arrived.

Your birth was powerful yet peaceful—just like you and your divine mama, the two radiant feminine forces of your family.
Your dad, with his loving smile and calming presence, melted the moment he laid his eyes on you.
And your sweet big brothers waited patiently to meet you with hearts wide open.

You chose so well!

Your birth was one I’ll never forget.
You arrived so quickly, I almost missed your grand entrance!

I witnessed your powerful mama breathe you into the world with such peace and confidence — a beautiful reminder of our deep inner wisdom and the power we hold to birth.

Your big brother was there too, gently drifting in and out of sleep on Grandma’s lap, wrapped in her safe hug. But was ready in time to announce your gender! Your sweet sister was sleeping peacefully this whole time. Waiting for the right moment to meet you.
And your dad… so calm, so steady. He held space for your mother with such love and deep respect for this sacred process.

Your mother, Shilo, is so strong, wise and powerful… you chose so well.

In the United States, the vast majority of breech births result in cesarean deliveries. approximately 98% of breech babies delivered by cesarean section . This trend has been increasing over the years; the skills, wisdoms and trust in breech births has forgotten with time and policies, fear and convenience took over. Last week I had the privilege and honor to learn from a man who devoted his life to serve women and families to have options in the way they birth. I feel more knowledgeable and competent midwife because of him. And I now I secretly wish for bottom first babies at every birth 🤗
