Posted @withregram • @naturallylamonica It’s seem like every natural gets heat damage at some point in their natural hair journey. Did you know when you were relaxed you probably suffered from dry heat damage as well but you couldn’t tell because you’re hair was already straight. The only indication that you had that your hair was a damaged was when your hair wouldn’t grow past a “certain length” and every time you got your annual trim which was probably every 4,6 or 8 weeks it was like you were always back to square one.
See that’s what I love about natural hair is that we can actually see the damage, so instead of going years thinking this was just “our hair” & it doesn’t grow we can address these issues timely and swiftly. So no more of being afraid of cutting off “our length” because when you know damaged hair will only cause more damage to your healthy thriving hair we won’t be afraid to trim, cut and do a big chop. #dallasnaturalsalon
Before & After
Before the color & retightening sisterlocks service.
The best thing about locs is that can also color your hair too.
I think the most important thing to realize and understand is when your hair is loosely naturally textured or in Locs, properly conditioning, having a consistent healthy hair regimen & building up your moisture retention is vital in retaining your length & maintaining your healthy hair.
A little tip to help with being consistent is go to your calendar pick a wash day, I don’t care if it’s a Wednesday or Friday pick a wash day that you can stick with and set a reminder for every week or every other week.
Also make sure you set reminder for extra treatments, trims and everything else in between.
When your client comes in with 45 to 50% and gray you give them the best low maintenance hair color and highlights in under one hour.
