On the 13th of July, the second batch of Legacy Health’s Colombo team consisting of nearly 300 vibrant team members embarked on their much-anticipated annual getaway to Club Dolphin Hotel, Negombo. From the moment they set off, excitement filled the air, with everyone ready to trade their routines for a day of relaxation, fun, and connection.

As the sun rose over the coast, the team embraced the spirit of the day with lively games, energizing group activities, and plenty of laughter. The ocean breeze, the golden sands, and the scenic beauty of Club Dolphin created the perfect setting for our team to unwind, recharge, and celebrate the bonds that keep us united.

Shaping Leaders | Leadership Development Program for Junior Management

Shaping Leaders was a transformative four-week Leadership Development Program conducted from April 25th to May 16th, tailored for newly promoted junior management at Legacy Health. This program was thoughtfully designed to equip participants with the core competencies and confidence required to thrive in their new roles. Key focus areas included capacity planning, data-driven decision-making, performance appraisals, and grievance handling, the critical pillars of effective leadership.

One of our newly appointed junior managers who participated in the program, shared how Shaping Leaders served as a powerful catalyst in her transition. She clearly emphasized how the program helped her gain clarity, sharpen key skills, and step into her new role with greater confidence and readiness.

These valuable sessions were facilitated by a panel of seasoned leaders, including Rukshan Tennekoon (Vice President – Shared Services), Chathuri Wimalanaga (Senior Director – Human Resources, Chartered FCIPM) and Shalana Fernando a valuable internal resource. Each brought their unique expertise, offering real-world insights, strategic frameworks, and actionable tools to guide our new leaders. Legacy Health Sports Season 2025 – Cricket Tournament Highlights

The most exciting event of the Legacy Health Sports Season 2025, the annual Cricket Tournament was held on 20th July at Wesley Grounds, Colombo. With 21 men’s teams and 7 women’s teams taking part, the energy was high from the very beginning. The games started at 8:30 a.m. with the qualifier rounds, and it turned into a day full of action, team spirit, and great sportsmanship.

Both the men’s and women’s teams played with passion and gave it their all. From the first match to the finals, everyone brought their best game. It was clear that the teams had spent a lot of time preparing, and their hard work showed in every match.

As the tournament moved into the quarterfinals and semifinals, the competition got even tougher. The games were close, and it was hard to tell who would make it to the finals. The crowd cheered for every run, catch, and wicket, fully enjoying the fun and excitement.

In the end, Team Strikers and Team X-Squad made it to the men’s final, while Team Huskies and Team Radiant Rebels reached the women’s final. The final matches were intense and exciting. All four teams gave it everything they had.

Team Strikers won the men’s title, and Team Radiant Rebels took home the women’s trophy. Both teams played with great skill and showed true team spirit throughout.

We’re proud to announce that Legacy Health Chennai Team, clinched second place in the women’s division of the Dreamit Bigger Corporate Badminton Tournament held last week!

Our dynamic duo, Monica and Ashwini, delivered an impressive performance throughout the competition. Their coordination, agility, and strategic play stood out on the court, a perfect reflection of the core values we uphold at Legacy Health: hard work, precision, adaptability, and responsiveness.

They began their winning streak with a solid victory against BVSoft Technologies (21/15), followed by a tough match against Lambdents in the second round, where they narrowly lost (14/21). Bouncing back strong, they defeated Busoft in the third round (21/17) and powered through the semi-final with an impressive win over SRM Tech (21/18). In the final rematch against Lambdents, they fought valiantly but finished just short with a score of 15/21.

Though the final match was a close battle, Monica and Ashwini’s exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship made us all proud. Their achievement is a shining example of what we can accomplish when passion meets perseverance.

Annual Trip 2025 | Kandy Team

On the 29th of June, our Kandy team embarked on their much anticipated annual getaway, spending a relaxing and joyful day together at the breathtaking Victoria Golf Resort. Surrounded by nature’s serene beauty, the resort provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with laughter, warm conversations, and cherished memories.

Over 250 team members came together not just to take a break from the usual work routine, but to truly connect with nature, with themselves, and most importantly, with each other. It was a day where colleagues became companions and workplace bonds transformed into lasting friendships.

Shaping Leaders, the Leadership Development Program for newly promoted junior management, was held from April 25th to May 16th with the objective of equipping our new leaders with the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in their roles. Designed as a four-part weekly series, the program focused on strengthening leadership capabilities through focused, practical learning.

One of the key sessions covered Appraisal & Performance Reviews and Grievance Handling which are critical areas for any emerging leader. This session was conducted by Chathuri Wimalanaga, Senior Director of Human Resources at Legacy Health and a Chartered FCIPM professional, known for her expertise in HR leadership and performance management.

Her session was immensely valuable to our new wave of leadership. She offered practical and actionable insights on the importance of cultivating the right mindset and thinking patterns, emphasizing active listening as a vital leadership skill. Additionally, she highlighted the significance of understanding the right tools and strategies to handle performance evaluations and workplace concerns effectively.
