As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, our President, Alex Dao, personally selected a collection of books to share with our clinicians. Each chosen to encourage the importance of prioritizing mental health and well-being.

Our first featured read is Patients Come Second: Leading Change by Changing the Way You Lead by Britt Berrett and Paul Spiegelman.

The book challenges traditional leadership thinking by emphasizing one powerful idea: when leaders put their people first, better patient care naturally follows. Last year, we launched Beyond Call, an educational series designed for residents nearing graduation and preparing to enter the professional workforce.

Each event features a member of our clinical executive team and focuses on the business side of anesthesia. Equipping the next generation of providers with the tools required to take a confident first step in their careers.

We recently hosted our first Beyond Call session for RRNAs at Texas Christian University’s Anesthesia Program, featuring our Chief Administrative Officer, Andrew Sanders, DNAP, MBA. During this session, we covered contract types and stipulations, choosing a practice setting aligned with your professional goals, and navigating the ever-changing landscape of anesthesia.

Kicking Off Mental Health Awareness Month!

This week, Brandi Mizell, LCSW, came to speak about mental health in the work place.

We explored:
• Why mental health matters at work
• Recognizing and managing workplace stress
• Creating safe spaces for recovery and support
• Participating in an interactive stress assessment

It was a powerful reminder that supporting mental well-being starts with awareness, conversation, and action.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this session impactful. More to come this month as we continue prioritizing mental health across our organization.

This past weekend, we hosted PROBES (POCUS & Regional Oriented Bootcamp Experience) in Oklahoma City. The OKC edition featured Dr. Johanna Blair de Haan and Dr. Sara Amaral. PROBES is our regional training program designed to deliver targeted, high-impact education tailored to our providers’ needs. All at no cost as part of our commitment to clinical excellence.

Each session is built based on direct feedback from our providers. We survey each region to identify the most valuable training topics, then bring in expert Anesthesiologists who specialize in those techniques to lead hands-on instruction.
