Henry "Olan" Luke, 84 of Tifton, formerly born and raised in Nashville passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Olan was born August 28, 1938 to the late Jesse & Naomi Hancock Luke. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Chaparral Boats. He enjoyed listening to country music, especially George Jones. He also enjoyed fishing and was a Nascar fan. Olan loved his family and everyone else, He was a generous man and a dedicated father & husband.
Survivors include his children, Mike (Pam) Luke of Alapaha, Cindy Cole of Nashville, Lanette (Ren) Estes of Tifton, Melissa (Jay) Evans of Nashville, and Larry (Stacey) Luke of Tifton; grandchildren, Michael (Mattie) Luke, Jesse Luke, Blake Luke, Brandon Thompson, Shane (Tina) Thompson, Ashley (Charles) Thompson, Cody Luke, and Adam (Jennifer) Cole; several great grandchildren; one brother, Ray (Evelyn) Luke of Tifton; several nieces & nephews; and sister in law Gladys Luke. Olan was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ellie Luke; grandson, Corey Cole; great grandchild, Tiyan Cole; brothers, Waylon Luke, and Wayne Luke; sisters, Kate Griner, and Nell Merritt; and son in law, Bo Cole.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Sandlin officiating. Interment will follow at Oaky Grove Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
