Wow! Look at you guys. Thank you so much to everyone who submitted their senior pets for our Powder Faces of the Month feature in this month's upcoming newsletter. And yes, you read that right. There were too many adorable submissions to just choose ONE Powder Face, so we're featuring THREE!

Selections were made at random (via spinning wheel), and although submissions for this month are closed, don't worry! If your pet wasn't chosen this time, all submissions will be rolled over into next month's pool. So keep your eyes peeled for submissions opening up for next month and subscribe to the Great Iowa Pet Expo newsletter to find out which three senior pups were chosen to be our January Powder Faces of the Month! 🤍🐶

🕘 All Day

Watch incredible dogs from all breeds compete and shine throughout the weekend. It’s a great outing for dog lovers of all ages and a chance to see some truly impressive pups in action. 🏆🐾

Calling all senior pets with frosty faces and big hearts! 🤍🐾 We're now accepting submissions for the February Powder Face of the Month, our newsletter feature celebrating senior pets. If you've got a gray-muzzled furry friend at home, we'd love to see them.

To submit, share a photo in the comments along with a short bio about your pet (their name, age, and what makes them special).

Submissions are open now and close Wednesday, January 28. Let's show some love to the pets who've been with us through it all. ✨

Did you know that Iowa accounts for about 1.05% of all shelter adoptions nationwide? That's not an accident. That number comes from Iowans choosing adoption, showing up to volunteer, fostering when they can, and donating what they're able to.

It's a great reminder that supporting rescues doesn't have to be this huge thing to be meaningful. It's just a lot of people doing what they can. 🐶😽✨

2025 was weird. There were good moment for sure, but there was also huge personal and family challenges that needed to be addressed. The Expo had to be postponed, and then cancelled. But all that and 2025 are in the rearview now. In 2026, we're looking forward to so many things: new opportunities to reconnect with Iowa's pet community, highlighting pet vendors, and of course The 2026 Great Iowa Pet Expo in October later this year.

But with all that said, we'd like to thank all of you for sticking around. Let's have a great new year, together. 🐾💖
