This is Gayle. Gayle is an experienced Licensed Massage Therapist. Gayle gave me a massage. Go see Gayle.
Clients, for all that is holy, please do not wait for me. Please take care of yourself. I finally made that decision and experienced a massage from her. Ya'll listen; I told her to come over to the salon because she has the same schooling and many years of massage under her belt. I was also referred to her by a client who has experienced both of our treatment styles. Please trust me that she will make you feel better.
Our method and routine is slightly different; as are all massage therapists. However, quite a few similarities. Like... finding sore spots I didn't know I had! Ugh! My body is a mess right now apparently.
She's easy to talk to, takes constructive criticism easily bc she knows the appointment is about you, and personality wise we meshed well. Major plus, I felt GOOD DIFFERENT getting off the table. Want more focus somewhere? Just tell her!
I'll have to go back of course, like any massage schedule for treatment. I'm absolutely not fixed; no massage therapist can do that in one appointment. Especially when the 1st appointment is mapping out your body, waiting to see how you and your body react, then adjusting treatment for the next session. It's all organic.
My 1st experience for example: she said she was using a lot of pressure on my right side, but I didn't feel it. Then she got to my left with the same pressure. GUYS. WHOA. Basically my right side has shut off the pain receptors because I've been ignoring it for so long, a survival technique the brain does. So if you aren't feeling what you THINK you should feel, it could be your nervous system has altered your pain tolerance. You need to focus on how you feel AFTER the massage. Taller? Lighter? Emotional? You just had a good treatment massage.
Will the results last? That's all client by client and the effort put into daily routine and continued massage scheduling. I have always told clients to try and not go more than 2 weeks if you're trying to fix something, because of the body's internal repair clock and when tissue binds back up. BUT! If you can do every 3 weeks, your body will pick up the routine. Or for maintenance, every 3 or 4 weeks, your body will pick up the routine and it'll just take a little longer, but at home changes can help dramatically.
Remember, massage is around 8 (!) hours of fluid movement and accelerated tissue repair. It's stored emotions stuck in muscle memory, being released. It's unwinding of DAILY movement fiber patterns.... Pay the lady! I'm done beating around the bush with pricing. When you have a therapist who can FEEL and SENSE what's happening with your body, you are receiving health care treatment. Our licenses are categorized even as such: Health Care Providers.
I speak straight to all my clients. If you want to work on fixing something, give her the time of day/s to help you.
