“Spooky” Skin Concerns in October👻with Allergic Skin Reactions from Halloween Costumes, Makeup, and Candy

Here’s why it spikes in October:

Costume fabrics & masks → dyes, latex, and flame-retardant chemicals can trigger rashes or contact dermatitis.
Face paints & Halloween makeup → often contain fragrances, preservatives, or cheap pigments that cause allergic reactions, hives, or eczema flares.
Candy overload → excess sugar and certain food dyes can worsen acne or trigger eczema in sensitive kids.
Dry fall air + itchy costumes → can aggravate already sensitive pediatric skin.

👉 The “spooky” part? Kids may show up with rashes, hives, or irritated skin the very night they want to look their best in costume.
