🌈👠 “Lions, and Tigers, and… Skittles? Oh my!” 👠🌈
✨ There’s no place like Gaslight! ✨
Our residents had a blast celebrating the 86th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz! We tested our brains with trivia and enjoyed goodies that would make even the Wicked Witch smile—chocolate hearts for the Tin Man, candy kisses for his hat, Burlesque for witches’ hats, lollipops for the Lollipop Guild, Skittles for the rainbow, and an Emerald City drink. 🌟 So much laughter, sweetness, and Oz-style fun filled the day! 💚 And yes… Dorothy even stopped by, clicked her heels three times, and disappeared! 👠✨

Our Annual Dog Parade was a barking success! 🐶💙 A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us today—so many new faces and new pups, and we loved meeting you all!

We handed out tons of prizes, with awards going to:

🐕 Oldest Pup (a proud 17 years young!)
🐕 Most Tricks
🐕 Fastest Recall
🐕 Resident Favorite
🐕 Best Costume

This is one of those events our residents look forward to every year, and it’s the perfect way to wrap up the Dog Days of Summer. 🐾☀️

This Saturday, we’re rolling out the red carpet for our four-legged friends! 🐕✨ Bring your pup and join us for a tail-wagging good time as our residents enjoy cheering on the parade and voting for their favorite dogs.

🎉 Lots of prizes will be given out in fun categories
💜 Residents get to be the judges
🐾 Every pup will get plenty of love and attention!

✨ Busy and fun day at the Village! ✨
Today we rolled up our sleeves for our Walker & Wheelchair Wash to keep everyone shining and rolling smoothly. 🚶‍♀️🦽✨

We also took time to celebrate our August birthdays with cake, smiles, and plenty of joy. 🎂🎉

And to top it all off, we ended the day with our favorite tradition – Cocktail Hour! 🍹🥂 A perfect way to toast to friendship, fun, and another great day together. 💛

🌊 Today at Gaslight Village: We were lucky to have Teresa Schmidt share her fascinating presentation on Michigan Lighthouses! 🏠✨ Residents and staff alike enjoyed learning about the history, stories, and beauty of these iconic beacons along our Great Lakes.

A big thank you to Teresa for bringing a little piece of Michigan’s shoreline right here to The Village! 💡❤️

☁️💦 The sun may have been hiding today, but that didn’t stop us from having the BEST Water Park Day yet! From splashy rides down the slip ’n slide to brave volunteers taking their turn in the dunk tank, the laughter never stopped. 🌊😂

Even with the cooler temps and cloudy skies, our residents, staff, and friends made the day warm with joy and excitement. What a blast! 💙✨

No running shoes required! Join us in supporting the Alzheimer’s Walk with our Memories Matter UNrun fundraiser. Every step (or non-step 😉) makes a difference in raising awareness and helping those affected by Alzheimer’s.
Together, we walk (or UNwalk) for a world without Alzheimer’s. 💜

🛍️ The Village Shoppers were on the road again today, heading to Adrian’s newest store, Ross! Our crew had a great time browsing the aisles and checking out the new shop.

After our outing, we gathered back at the Village for lunch and a very special celebration 🎉 — honoring Mary, one of our 3rd shift, amazing care staff members, for her 10 years of dedicated service. 💜 We celebrated with gifts, cake, and lots of love from residents and staff alike.

What a wonderful day filled with shopping, smiles, and a milestone worth celebrating!
