⏰ Daylight Saving Time Is Almost Here – Help Your Child Sleep Easier!

The upcoming time change can disrupt sleep routines for many children and families. Even losing just one hour of sleep can throw off your child’s internal clock for a few days.

The good news is that a few simple steps can make the transition easier:

✔️ Stick to consistent bedtime routines
✔️ Encourage outdoor play and natural sunlight during the day
✔️ Avoid stimulating activities close to bedtime
✔️ Choose relaxing evening activities like reading or quiet music

These small habits can help reset your child’s internal clock and support better sleep as we adjust to the time change.

Having a baby with a stuffy nose can make sleep tough for little ones and parents too. The American Academy of Pediatrics reminds us that safe sleep always means placing babies on their backs on a firm, flat surface with no pillows or props. To help ease congestion, try saline drops, gentle suction, a cool mist humidifier, or a steam session in the bathroom before bedtime. Staying hydrated also helps. Learn more about helping your baby sleep safely when congested here:

Nasal congestion from colds, flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), or COVID can make it harder for babies to breathe—and sleep at night. Pediatrician and safe sleep expert Dr. Rachel Moon explains why and suggests safe ways to help your baby sleep when they have a stuffy nose.
