If it’s heavy, you don’t have to carry it alone.
If it’s peaceful, allow yourself to rest in it.

However today feels, you are not doing recovery wrong. If you or someone you know is struggling please reach out to us. Call us today - 844-844-2915. We’re here with you. You don't have to face anything alone.

There are many misconceptions about addiction — and these myths often prevent individuals and families from getting the help they need.
In reality, addiction is a chronic medical disease that affects the brain’s reward, motivation, and stress systems. It is not a moral failing, a lack of effort, or a simple matter of willpower.

Modern research shows that addiction alters neural pathways over time, making it increasingly difficult to stop without structured support, evidence-based treatment, and healthy coping skills. This is why compassionate, informed care is essential — and why stigma-free education matters.

At Compass Recovery, we work to correct these myths by helping clients and families understand the science of addiction, the impact it has on the brain and body, and the many pathways to healing.
Recovery is absolutely possible, and early intervention, supportive environments, and individualized treatment significantly improve outcomes.

If you or someone you love is struggling, know this:
Help is available. Healing is real. And no one has to walk this path alone. Call us today for more information or to start your path to recovery now. 844-844-2915.

Setting an intention gives your week direction, clarity, and purpose — especially in recovery ✨

It’s not about doing everything perfectly. It’s about choosing one thing that supports your growth and showing up for yourself in small, meaningful ways.

What intention are you choosing this week?

Weekends can be a time of both opportunity and vulnerability in recovery. Slowing down, changing routines, or being around different people can bring up emotions or cravings you didn’t expect.

That’s why having a Weekend Recovery Plan matters — it helps you stay grounded, intentional, and connected before challenges even show up.

As you head into the next few days, take a moment to check in with yourself:

• What do I need in order to feel supported?
• What environments help me feel steady and safe?
• Which coping skills feel easiest to reach for right now?
• What small choices can help me stay aligned with my recovery goals?
• And most importantly — what intention do I want to carry with me this weekend?

Your recovery deserves care, preparation, and compassion.
And you don’t have to navigate it alone. 💙

If you need support, reach out — we’re here. 844-844-2915.

Coping skills are the foundation of long-term sobriety. They help you navigate cravings, regulate emotions, and stay grounded when life feels overwhelming. At Compass Recovery, we teach tools you can use anytime, anywhere — especially on the hard days.

Here are three core skills that support emotional regulation and recovery:

✨ Urge Surfing — Notice the craving without judging it. Breathe through the sensations and allow the urge to rise and fall like a wave, knowing it will pass if you don’t react to it.

✨ 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding — Use your senses to anchor yourself in the present moment by naming what you can see, touch, hear, smell, and taste. This helps interrupt spiraling thoughts and reduces anxiety.

✨ Reach Out Instead of Reacting — When you feel overwhelmed, choose connection instead of isolation. Call a trusted person, attend a meeting, or talk to someone who can help you pause and regroup.

Recovery isn’t about avoiding challenges — it’s about having the tools to move through them with support, awareness, and courage.

Which coping skill helps you the most?

✨ Q: If you could share one piece of wisdom with someone new to recovery, what would it be?
A: “No matter how bad you might feel right now, I promise that if you hold on and just keep doing the work it WILL get better!! One thing I learned working in this field and also being in recovery myself is that everything is fixable and we can always find a way through—unless we pick up a drink or a drug. And luckily, there are so many good people, both here at Compass and in the recovery community at large, who are always willing to reach out and help.”

💙 Thank you, Clementine, for the compassion, wisdom, and steady support you bring to Compass Recovery and every individual who walks through our doors.
