Most new or expecting parents have heard of postpartum depression but many have never heard of postpartum anxiety until they recieve a diagnosis.

Postpartum anxiety is incredibly common and can be experienced by both moms and dads. It can start anytime during pregnancy or in the first year postpartum.

If you have experienced any of the symptoms listed here or are just not feeling like yourself lately. You may be experiencing postpartum anxiety disorder, or PPA.

These symptoms do not mean you are a bad parent, but getting treatment can help you to feel more like yourself, happier, and more present for your baby.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms or don't feel like yourself most days....

We continue to need reminders in daily life. Specially when our environment is stressful and it feels a bit out of our own control. It is ok to struggle, to need a break, to say no. What do you need to remind yourself of today?

For me, it is I need to go outside and move my body, hear and feel nature. It’s ok to take a few minutes (or more!) to yourself. It is ok to say no. That is a big one for me.

For many of us motherhood was harder than expected. I wish I would have done more of this with my first. Definitely did better with my second. For me making sure I was connecting with loved ones and exercising made all the difference second time around.
