Did you know Canola oil is toxic? According to a new study out of Temple University, cooking with canola oil could be setting yourself up for Alzheimer’s disease.
Researchers divided baby mice into 2 groups. One group was fed canola oil everyday. Both groups ate the same diet.
At the end of 6 months, the mice who’d been given canola oil performed WORSE on learning and memory tests than the mice who hadn’t eaten any.
They also had an INCREASE in the plaques and tangles often seen in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients.
That’s probably because their brains were swimming in a protein called beta-amyloid, which is associated with the formation of these plaques and tangles in at least half the cases of seniors with mild cogni- tive impairment.
And their brains showed damage to key synapses (the sites where neurons come together) which play a role in how we form and retrieve precious memories.
The best oil to use is Extra Virgin Olive oil. Olive oil is not only better than canola oil, it has so many good benefits for our body.
