Our founders and students attended a fantastic convention last week! Hawaii Behavioral Health & Wellness Convention 2025. The event brought together all of the Hawaii affiliates representing all major mental health disciplines.⁠

Behind every struggle with substances, despair, or self-harm is pain that needs to be understood, not judged. 💔➡️❤️

Whether it’s a patient, a teen in crisis, or a co-worker holding it together — what we see on the surface is often only the tip of a deeper story.

✨ Trauma-informed care starts here:
✔️ Stay curious, not critical
✔️ Ask “What happened to you?” instead of “What’s wrong with you?”
✔️ Remember: healing begins when people feel safe, seen, and supported

This month, extend the same compassion to yourself, too. Not everything needs fixing, but almost everything needs witnessing. 🌱
