Today's featured Athlete is: Athing Mu. 19 year old Mu won gold in the 800m race and even ended a half a century drought. The U.S. took home its only other gold in the event 53 years ago when Madeline Manning ran an Olympic-record 2:00.9 at the 1968 Mexico City Games.

Just one day following the third edition of the women's Marathon Swimming, the men's Marathon Swimming will commence at Odaiba Marine Park in Tokyo (JPN). The men's race held on the same course is a 10km contest for 26 men beginning at 6:30 am on August 5.

It’s technically Day 9 of the Olympics!

Be sure to tune in now to catch the Cross Country phase of Eventing! The US team sits in 8th place after dressage. Still anyone’s game! A lot can happen during cross country and stadium.

Here is the US team:
Aiken’s winter resident, Boyd Martin, is competing on his horse Tsetserleg (Thomas). Philip Dutton is on Z, and he is a former Aiken winter resident! Doug Payne, NC resident, is on his horse Vandiver.

Wishing these amazing riders and their horses a smooth and safe ride!

Fun fact: Eventing is considered the “triathlon” of the horse world. It consists of three phases: dressage, cross country, and stadium jumping. Up until the 1950s, only male military officers were allowed to compete. In 1964, Helena DuPont was the first woman to compete — during the last Tokyo Olympics!

It's Day 6 of the Olympics!

Today's featured sport is: Skateboarding! Tokyo 2021 is the debut for Olympic Skateboarding!

Skateboarding, as we know it, was introduced in the late 1940 to early 1950s, when surfers in California wanted something to do when the waves were flat. Accordingly, skateboarding was originally called "sidewalk surfing". Early skaters emulated surfing style and maneuvers while performing barefoot!

We can't wait to see what these awesome athletes have brought to the Summer Olympics!

It's Day 4 of the Olympics!

Today's featured sport is: surfing! Tokyo 2021 is the debut for Surfing! Along with skateboarding. The USA's Carissa Moore took home Gold!

Modern Surfing originated in Hawaii (although ancient origins are unknown and seemed to have been practiced in various different areas such as Polynesia and Peru), and where surfing gained it's popularity was from the famous Waikiki Beach.

Super exciting for all surfers from all of history who fought so hard to get surfing into the Olympics. Their dream became a reality in Tokyo!
