Ken Burgess, our newly appointed RHS CEO, made his debut at the Rotary Club of Aiken meeting as the guest of Rotarian and S. C. House of Representatives Member Bill Clyburn. The meeting was convened at the cutting-edge SRNL facility situated at 151 Newberry Street, NW. Lunch was kindly provided by Newberry Hall and was savored by all. This facility will be formally dedicated on Thursday in recognition of Senator Tom Young.

RHS @ Almond Branch Resource Fair coordinated by Susan Harrison! Free shoes from Sole to Sole, Project Refresh (shower truck) Umoja Village (resource center), ACON (council on neighborhoods), Youth Empowerment, Brothers and Sisters, and others participated! Thanks to Aiken First Baptist Church for providing food (hamburgers, hotdogs and chips) for all who attended.

In observance of Memorial Day, Rural Health Services offices will be closed today, Monday, May 25.

We will reopen tomorrow during regular business hours.

As we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, we wish everyone a safe Memorial Day.

RHS showed up for Monica Jeffcoat’s CEO, of Helping Hands, first Mental Health Expo! Terance Dawkins, LISW-CP, Independent Social Worker in North & South Carolina, was phenomenal! The handpicked panelists, facilitated by Cherell Butler, LISW, CP & AP, were on the icing on the cake! We are ready for the next EXPO because MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!

We are proud to celebrate a major milestone for Rural Health Services and for the residents of Aiken County!

Our very own Program Manager, Grayson Ross, was recently featured by both WJBF NewsChannel 6 and WRDW to announce Project Connect — a new initiative linking individuals released from the Aiken County Detention Center to primary care services and continued healthcare support after reentry into the community.

Project Connect is the first program of its kind in South Carolina, helping bridge the gap in healthcare access for formerly incarcerated individuals and ensuring residents have support as they transition back into the community.

We are incredibly proud of Grayson’s leadership, dedication, and passion for serving our community through this innovative program. Please join us in congratulating Grayson and the entire Project Connect team on this incredible achievement!

Our Rural Heath Services Pediatric offices recently welcomed Andre Woods, our Reach Out and Read’s program manager, in for a tour of all the great reading exposure our young patients receive during their well visit appointments.
Our partnership with this non-profit literacy program allows us to offer all patients ages 0-5 years old a free book at each of their checkups!
We are proud to share the lifelong benefits of reading aloud to children with our families.
