She graduated from the Medical College of Georgia, where she also completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She began her OB/Gyn practice in Aiken, South

Carolina in January 1992. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Besson is also a Certified Laser Operator/Aesthetic. She and her husband, Dr. William Besson, have three sons. She is active in multiple community and church activities.
