Kitfox Pediatric Dentistry

Kitfox Pediatric Dentistry Dr. Thomas Akins is a board certified pediatric dentist providing care tailored to infants, children Dr. Thom grew up in the small town of Dublin, Georgia.

After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, he worked as an engineer for nearly 7 years. He then decided to attend dental school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. It was while in his pediatric dental residency in Augusta that he met his wife Anna. Dr. Thom and Anna have lived in the Atlanta suburbs for the past 7 years where they started a family and Dr. Thom worked as an associate in a large pediatric dental practice. Suburbia was fine for a season, but now it is time for something a bit more peaceful. The small town atmosphere and cosmopolitan offerings unique to Aiken have Dr. Thom excited to provide dental care to Aiken’s children, to become part of the community, and to rear his children in this gorgeous city.

Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸 🦊 See below for some fun American Flag facts below.

🇺🇸 Flag Day was first observed in 1885, by a teacher in Wisconsin. Bernard Cigrand and his students set aside time to respect the flag on that day.

🇺🇸 In 1916 Flag Day became official, established by President Woodrow Wilson.

🇺🇸 Which American Flag nickname is your favorite? The Stars and Stripes, The Star-Spangled Banner, The Red, White, and Blue, and Old Glory.

🇺🇸 A 17-year old designed the American Flag as we know it today. Student Robert Heft created the design for a school project, and President Dwight D. Eisenhower chose his design over 1,500 other submissions. Age is just a number!

🇺🇸 The flag’s colors have official names: Old Glory Red, White, and
Old Glory Blue.

🇺🇸 The flag’s colors each represent something symbolic. Red represents valor, white represents purity, and blue represents perseverance.

🇺🇸 There have been 27 different versions of the U.S. flag. Each version has a different number of stars.
