• Stay hydrated before, during and after being outside
• Wear loose-fitting, lightweight clothing
• Avoid peak heat hours and when the humidity is high
• Plan outdoor activities during the cooler morning hours
• Seek shade and air-conditioned spaces
• Know the warning signs of heat-related illnesses: dizziness, muscle cramps, extreme thirst or heavy sweating
