**Athlete Spotlight**
Congrats to Pam Kusar for qualifying for the 2025 Crossfit Games in the masters division! She has competed at the games several times and has worked incredibly hard to make it back. Pam has also dedicated her time to recovery and consistent bodywork to keep competing at a high level. The staff at Versakinetic is beyond proud of you and we cannot wait to cheer you on in August!

Good luck to katelynwanders as she travels to Finland for the World Masters Weightlifting Championships!

Not only is she an awesome coach in Olympic Weightlifting and Crossfit but she leads by example by putting up some heavy weight with great technique and ease!

She also leads by example by emphasizing that her recovery is a priority to help push herself to the top of her game!

Michael Stauch headed to Sweden this weekend for the USATF Masters World Championship and got Silver for his individual 10000m and Gold for his team!! (51:28 for 10K finished 4th overall in all ages and won the 55+ world championship!)

Way to go, Mike!

***UPDATE***
Mike is the 3000M Individual Indoor Track National Masters (ages 30-59) Champion! He also took 2nd place in 10000M Masters also! Awesome!

Good luck to Mike Stauch as he continues to compete in Chicago this weekend at the USATF Indoor Track Nationals!

You would never have guessed that he took 30 years off from his sport, Race Walking, because he’s been killing it this year!

He takes his training seriously and consistently focuses on recovery!

If you are interested in learning more about Race Walking he’s the guy to talk to!

****ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT****

Good luck to Breezy Horrigan as she tackles the 18th Annual Burning River 50 mile Run for the first time!

She might be new to ultramarathons (although she just finished a 31 mile a couple weeks ago!)…

She’s a veteran to running in races including the Burning River Relays. She’s run in more half marathons than you can count on 2 hands and ran in numerous marathons.

She keeps her body in tune and ready by making sure her recovery is a priority.

We are cheering for you, Breezy!!

KaiLi and CWRU are headed to the Div III World Series in Marshall, Texas!! Clinched the Super Regionals Series with 2-0 record over COE

***ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT***

Good luck KaiLi Gross and the Case Western Reserve University Softball team as they battle their way through the NCAA Div III tournament.

They play their second game today leading with one win against COE in a best of 3 series. If they advance they move on to the College World Series!

KaiLi holds the record for most stolen bases in career history at CWRU with over 77+ bases. She currently has a .418 batting average and 9 HRs.

In 2023, she was named to Academic All-America First Team and Academic All-District Team...Received UAA First Team honors for second consecutive season...Earned UAA All-Academic recognition.

She knows what recovery means and makes sure she keeps her body in top shape to be able to stay above and ahead for the season!

Let’s go KaiLi and the CWRU softball team! We want to see you play in Texas!!!

This will be her 4th Major and she continues to keep adding miles and exploring countries throughout her running career while having a blast! So amazing!

Best of luck to all athletes participating in the 2024 Crossfit Open! This is a very special time of year for the entire Crossfit community. Whether it’s your 1st or 15th Open, below are a few tips to help get the most out of your experience. 1) A good nights sleep the day before goes a long way 2) Proper nutrition is also key, between meals or a small snack before for an extra boost 3) A good warm up is vital. Take the time to get your HR up, mobilize, or check with a coach for more specific movements. 4) Hydration, the often forgotten piece, especially when the nerves kick in. 5) Recovery is more vital now than ever. 6) Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the experience. Many firsts happen during the Open and it’s always a shared joy between members!

With the new year, new aches and pains may start to appear. One alternative treatment option is lumbar and cervical traction for both lower back and neck issues. Traction can be beneficial for chronic pain or disc related issues in conjunction with an examination and specific exercises given by a PT. It is an additional treatment option we offer at VK to help get over the hump and out of pain.
