Project Search Shelby County, Alabama Project SEARCH is a program designed to help high school students who have a disability, learn job skills to gain competitive employment in the community.

Project SEARCH is based out of Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. This program is designed for high school students ages 18-21 who have a disability and are in their last eligible year of school. Project SEARCH is an 1 year program where interns do three 10 week rotations within various departments of the hospital. Project SEARCH follows the Shelby County Board of Education School Cal

endar. The program runs from August to May and consists of a teacher (Lacy Wilson) a Full Time job coach (Kim Bryant) and a part time job coach. Interns learn job skills, and social skills during their internship rotations that will help them obtain competitive employment within the community. Project SEARCH Shelby County is currently in their 4th year, and is excited about the success we have had so far.
