I believe that a comfortable body lies at the intersection of soft tissue mobility, a slow breath pattern, and the freedom that results from a daily movement practice. I believe that a comfortable body ultimately lies at the intersection of soft tissue mobility, an even and slow breath pattern, and the strength and self-awareness that results from a daily conscious movement practice. Clients accu
stomed to a bodyworker that “fixes” their aches and pains will find my process to be much more collaborative; it asks that each client be curious and sensitive in and outside the session. Drawing from the teachings of Structural Integration and Craniosacral Therapy, I employ many strategies to facilitate a sense of ease in the body. I often enlist the help of my clients' active movement to promote proprioception and a reduced sense of tension throughout the body. Depending on each person's goal and concerns, we will use weights, resistance, and breath work to help reeducate a healing nervous system. After over a decade of manual therapy experience, formal training, and attention to the most current research on pain and the body, I believe that customized techniques (spanning across touch and movement modalities) are required to compassionately interact with and disarm patterns of tension in held in the body. I encourage everyone to consider monthly maintenance sessions, but if you have persistent pain or functional limitations, a series of weekly sessions can help to get you back on track. We will design a treatment plan together that works for your body and your wallet! Please inquire about my sliding scale pricing if your budget is a factor.
