Public Service Announcement!!!

The Alamo Police Department is launching a new initiative for our officers to better serve and be prepared to handle special situations when it comes to certain calls for service or interactions.

The Alamo Police Department is asking that anyone who takes care of a person with Autism come to the police department and ask for Officer Jacob Garcia so they may pick up a fillable Autism Card. We would like those who come to pick up a card to fill it out completely and legibly and then turn them back into Officer Garcia. Once they are submitted, the information will be tagged to the home address of the person with Autism in our inhouse database so dispatch will be able to advise the officer or police personnel that there is an Autistic person that resides at that address. This will be a great help so that police personnel will be prepared to correctly handle and communicate when dealing with an Autistic loved one. Once the card is turned into Officer Garcia, he will give out our awesome Autism sticker (as seen in the picture posted) that can be placed on or around your door and or vehicle that will advise First Responders that an occupant may have Autism or special needs.
