Due to recent events I won’t be rebranding my business with Melody’s name. Instead, I want to tell the story of an amazing woman named Melody.
A few years ago she went through a botched surgery that unfortunately left her bedridden. She took that healing time to be productive and created her own little business. With the help of her amazing mother she gathered supplies and began to work.
At the time I was helping run the household by cleaning and cooking while also doing school full time and taking care of a toddler. She knew I had my own little business and needed help with logistics. Together we brainstormed potential names for products and the name of her business: The Sugar Rose. We were still workshopping this.
During festivals I would sell her products and afterwards give her a rundown on what sold and what people really liked. She re‑sparked my passion, and if it wasn’t for her I would have given up on my business. Helping her and working with her and seeing her fire ignited my own again.
I miss you so much, Melody, and you will be remembered forever. Even if her name isn’t on my business, this work is still a part of hers and always will be.
