Blankets of Hope

Blankets of Hope This is a ministry to provide blankets and support to NICU babies & families and full-term babies as we’re able.

My vision is to touch each family practically and spiritually by showing them we care about them and their little ones.

I was so blessed to finally get to deliver the first bundle of blankets to the hospital today...16 of them! Thank you to those who helped with this effort! These were lovingly handmade and prayed over, for a special blessing on the babies and families that receive them. 🙏❤️We need more ladies to help us sew blankets, folks...if you or someone you know would like to volunteer with this in their spare time, I would greatly appreciate it. This hospital averages 50 babies a month, so we definitely need more help! Right now, we will just do what we can. I know these mothers & babies will be blessed by these. ❤️

Finishing up this cute little blanket today. I am in need of help making blankets, friends. If you are local to Alba, Texas and can sew, and would like to volunteer some of your time to making these simple baby blankets for this ministry, please message me. I can provide you with supplies. Read the ABOUT section on this page or scroll down to the ABOUT post to learn more about why I started this and what the goals are. ❤️

This nasty weather and recovering from a broken ankle is keeping me inside but I’ve been able to get some sewing done. Working on some more blankets for my first load to take the the hospital hopefully next week. ALSO: Through the help of volunteers, we were able to send a new high chair to baby Isaac, who’s 10 months old. Isaac lacked the needed oxygen at birth and has some major medical issues from that, including cerabral palsy, seizures, and very limited mobility. His mom has hopes that by him being able to sit in a high chair with blankets to help hold his position, it will stimulate his mobility to improve. We look forward with hope also, to hear that it’s helping him. If you would like to know more about Blankets of Hope, go to the “ABOUT” section of this page. Also, we need more people willing to volunteer through sewing blankets, donating supplies, or simply praying for this ministry. Message me if you have any questions. ❤️

Very thankful for the donation of these supplies for baby blankets. That’s rolls of thread in the long package. Also donated was a huge 40 yard roll of batting! (I didn’t get a pic yet) We’ll have plenty to work with for awhile. I need local sewing volunteers who can help me see these blankets...they’re very simple, and can be whatever design you like, I just ask for the finished size to be around 30x 40 inches. Message me for details and any questions.

God bless the nurses who use their talent to make special artwork for the preemie’s incubators and bassinets. These little ones usually don’t get the fancy hospital door hanger like a lot of full term babies do, so some of these nurses go the extra mile to make their tiny space their own while they’re in the NICU. This blesses my heart. ❤️

This is my 3rd grandson, JaHaiven Elijah. He was born at 29 weeks gestation and weighed 2 lbs. 9 ozs. He is now 4 weeks old and right at 4 lbs. He will be in the NICU for another month or more, since his gestational age would still be just 33 weeks, still almost 2 mths from being born! He is doing good but has been having some drops in his heart & oxygen rate. Thank you to those who have prayed for him and please continue to. He and my other grandson’s are a huge part of the reason for this ministry. There is a huge need and mission field that I see that’s in every NICU and hospital all over the Nation, to these babies and their families. If you would like to help in some way, please message me. If you’ve ever had a baby that you loved who was born a preemie, it will change you. If you never have, be grateful that you haven’t had to walk that path, but remember those who do. ❤️

We’ve been working on blankets to take to the hospital hopefully at the end of this month or early January. Pray for the families who have part of their heart in the NICU this year at Christmas and for their little ones. 🎄

You don't know it, but someone you passed in the mall was buying clothes for a funeral. Someone sitting in the hospital waiting room as you welcomed a life was mentally preparing to say goodbye to a life. Someone who ordered coffee in front of you felt like their world stoped turning, but still had to get up with their alarm clock. Someone next to you in traffic was missing their mother, or father, or sibling, or child. Someone on the train cried themselves to sleep, or was too devastated to sleep. Someone you work with woke up to a buzzing phone and the worst news of their life, and still showed up 7 minutes before you did. Odds are you nudged shoulders on a busy street with a broken human today, and you didn't even know it. Practice empathy; practice kindness ALWAYS.

Be kind ❤
