Guess who’s headed home - LONG 4 weeks for Kathryn! She did it, she pushed through!! She will continue to go back weekly for check ups but look at that smile Happy to head home!!
She still has a long road ahead - keep those prayers and positive vibes coming strong 💪🏼 ♥️

1,205 days!!!

1,205 days since Bill walked into Dana Farber!!
1,049 days since transplant! His 3rd Birthday is almost here!! Doc says we have to celebrate !

Bill continues to deal with lots of cramping in his body which is very interesting to watch. It happens all over his body but mainly his hands and belly. Imagine a baby in a womens belly moving. He cramps up so badly that when it releases it moves his entire body. So strange. This seems to be just a symptom of a high intensity transplant that was given and all the meds. We have tried pretty much everything out there. Pickle juice, lots and lots of water. Tonic water. Magnesium. Nothings seems to work. We do however need to try Tonic water again and maybe something more like ‘G’?! Anyone ever hear of that? Doc says it’s more expensive but has more Quinine in it to help. So here’s to searching for some good tonic. Hehe not Gin and Tonics either.😆. Although may not hurt but 🤢.
Nose bleeds are still a thing and sinus issues , which we have been thinking it’s more of this dryer air. Doc agrees that we will still monitor and his numbers are pretty status quo so we can take it!!
We are now down to coming 6 months !! We finally made it to this point. September we will be back for PET scan. He will always be watched but moving the schedule farther and farther is such a huge step in the right direction.

Just a friendly reminder today that life throws us curve balls, and life is never what it seems to be. It’s hard to walk in others shoes when you have no idea what they are going through. Stop placing judgement when you have no idea what someone is going though! Just be kind, pray and send positive vibes whatever it is you believe in.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m thankful for a lot of things but one thing I will always be thankful for is the love and support we have had over the last 3 years. Nov 17th we hit the 3 year mark since Bill walked into Dana Farber and then a week later on Thanksgiving, I was thankful that I could pick you up and drive you home and prepare you for a journey we never expected.
3 YEARS!!
Thankful for life!
Thankful for the nurses and doctors who are our Team of Experts (TOEs)!
Thankful our children have witnessed the strength, courage, resilience of their father and to show them what they set their mind to they can get through anything.
Thankful to wonderful family and friends who we were able to lean on.
Sometimes in your life the least expected happens and we just have to roll with it. It sure hasn’t been easy and we still have struggle moments but we have eachother.
Live each moment to the fullest.
From us Boomhower’s to your family we hope you’ve had the very best Thanksgiving Day and we hope to continue to celebrate not only what we are thankful for but that we were able to spend it all together! 💪💪 🧡 🧡

Of course we went bright and early today!! The picture you saw🤣🤣🤦‍♀️ looked like a hot mess! The face I had hahahaha!!

Got to see our favorite beautiful loving nurse Nicole!! Bill hasnt seen her 2+ years! So good to know she is as our miracle during our journey at DF!!!

We heavent been since April to see the team so we were a little nervous of course.
Bills white blood count is higher than expected so they are running some additional tests on his blood. Having a donor can come with lots of different things we will always have to look out for.
We will know more tomorrow. He was able to remove a medication too but add a new one for his cramps. If you have ever seen him have his cramps you know. It looks like he has a baby on his belly and when the cramp releases his entire belly moves 😳🤪.
We have a few local drs we have to check in at now that we don’t have to go for 6 months. So crazy to hear we can space the appointments out more.

We know a lot of you have been wondering about Kathryn too! She is doing okay.. she just had her other hip replaced a few weeks back. She unfortunately bones were deteriorating in other hip so it needed to be replaced . Her back is still not so good but she is on chemo to continue some treatment before she has to go back to DF to see if her Next step will be stem cell transplant for the harvesting of her cells they did about a month or so ago. She’s a champ. But exhausted most days, being in pain is draining. She has really good support from friends and family and we know all of you!! Much love and prayers to Kathryn

It’s been awhile! Update later!

So yesterday we made it to Boston and then back in time for Samantha to go to Prom! It was a busy long day.

Guess who I ran into!! Yesss my favorite person ever! The TOE !! Nicole you took care of Bill and you were there for him when I couldn’t be because of COVID restrictions . You were my support system. Told me what I needed to do and know! You were our first person that had to spend almost 2 weeks with , who took us under your wing and treated us with compassion, support, knowledge, respect, kindness, love and the list goes on. You kept us positive and humble, and were honest! Most importantly you didn’t take SH$t when the worst happened and knew it was something we COULD get through! You never gave up!
I missed nurses week for this beautiful human being but I will love her heart and passion she has for what she does! She is a true angel.
Nurses never get the credit as they should they know so much about the patients and what they go through compared to a Dr and although I will Never down play a Dr that we have met at DF . The nurses hold it all together for everyone!
Nicole we will never be able to repay for what you gave us! HOPE! We thank you for our friendship!

Kathryn had some good news that her numbers are showing some positive progress in the right direction for what she is doing here in NY.
She will be getting ready and prepared for surgery that needs to be scheduled of her right hip.
Unfortunately her right hip has deteriorated because that is part of her condition. She has been in a lot of pain. Kath will need to get this done before she is considered for bone marrow transplant. We still have to make sure she is a good candidate due to Bill and the family history.
Right now she will get the surgery and then plan for bone marrow transplant in Boston. She will go back there sometime in august to get the prep and draws so they can be ready when her body is.

Kathryn you are doing great! We love ! We know you are in pain and we are hoping this is your last surgery that will start to make you feel a little better! Glad you were able to meet our favorite and hopefully she can be there for you as she has been for Bill.

You got this! We will be sure of it! ♥️🧡💪💪
