Our mission – to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens – encompasses our desire to ensure young people are equipped with the skills and support systems needed to succeed in life. Our vision is to redefine the “success equation” for the nearly 3,000 youth impacted by our staff, programs and services by b

uilding an even stronger Club experience, one that is characterized by intensive, targeted support in our three outcome areas:

• ACADEMIC SUCCESS – expanded and enhanced programs to ensure members graduate from high school ready for college, trade school, military or employment with a plan for their future.
• GOOD CHARACTER & CITIZENSHIP –expanded and enhanced opportunities for members to acquire and maintain a positive self-image, develop positive supporting relationships, become actively engaged in their community, and find and use their voices to become effective leaders and decisions makers.
• HEALTHY LIFESTYLES – expanded and enhanced programs for members to adopt healthy lifestyles and build the resiliency skills to avoid risky behaviors, which may hinder their opportunities to reach their full potential. By providing these opportunities we will be able to help young people advance through the necessary development milestones needed to grow up to become “productive, caring and responsible citizens.”

The theme for 2026 Georgia Cities Week was "Love Your City". We're grateful for leaders who take the time to connect with our Club members and invest in the future of Plains, Georgia.

Thursday was a powerful reminder of what makes our Steak & Burger Dinner so special.

The evening opened with an incredible performance by the Dougherty Comprehensive High School Choral, setting the tone for a night centered on inspiration and connection. We were proud to recognize the Albany Chapter of Jack & Jill of America as the recipient of the 11th Annual Harry & Jane Willson Partner of the Year Award. thank you for your outstanding commitment to our youth.

We then had the honor of hearing from Baseball Hall of Famer Fred “Crime Dog” McGriff, whose story as a Boys & Girls Club alumnus was both powerful and deeply inspiring.

The night concluded with one of our most meaningful moments, celebrating our Youth of the Year finalists. Congratulations to Haiden and Alaila for their incredible accomplishments, and to our 2026 Youth of the Year winner, Javien Butts. Your leadership represents the very best of what our Clubs stand for.

For nearly 40 years, this event has brought Albany together in support of our youth, and because of you, that impact continues.
