From typing up clear medication instructions for a patient’s mother to personally walking confused visitors to the right location, Nicole’s compassion shines in every interaction. 💛👏
Nicole earned her medical assisting license seven years ago and has been with Samaritan for nearly a year and a half.. A small act of kindness can change a hard day, and that’s exactly what Emergency Department nurse Erika Lentz, RN, did. 🌼 During her shift, she learned that a young patient’s sibling was spending a birthday in the hospital shortly after a devastating family loss. Erika stepped away on her break, bought a small gift and helped gather the team to sing.

Her kindness brought a moment of comfort. 💛 Her co-workers see moments like this regularly, which is why they nominated her for the DAISY Award.

We're celebrating Rocio Badger, maternal care coordinator in the Women’s Center, as one of Samaritan Albany General Hospital's January Rising Star! 🌟

Rocio provided incredible support for a Spanish-speaking mother during a cesarean section! She helped with translation, prepping for surgery, recovery and baby care until the early hours of the morning. Her dedication ensures every patient feels cared for and understood. 💙 Thank you, Rocio, for your compassion and commitment!
