Speech, Language and Accent Solutions Welcome to Speech, Language and Accent Solutions of Albany, OR! We are glad you’re here! Who do we see? What is the process? How much do I have to do on my own?

We strive to make all who enter feel welcome and valued as the wonderful and unique individuals you are! We provide services to people desiring help with their communication skills: reading, writing, speaking, and learning. At SLAS, we do a comprehensive evaluation to determine your strengths and needs. Once the tests are scored, we determine top priority needs and set goals to help those challenges. Then, we meet as often as needed for therapy to achieve those goals. We believe therapy is a partnership between the patient, family members or caregivers and your SLP. We provide skilled instruction and you provide the effort. Every therapy session is challenging, fun and effective. You will be asked to practice homework during the week and bring it back to the next session, so we can update it to help you keep progressing. While some diagnoses (such as autism) may require therapy for longer periods to help develop life skills, speech and language therapy does not need to be a lifelong endeavor for most diagnoses. Our goal is to help you fix your challenges as quickly as possible so you can get on with enjoying life outside the therapy room! That’s a loaded question because everyone has different skills and needs. The effort needed at home will be different for each person. We keep home practice expectations realistic, knowing you have a busy life, but also knowing you are here with a committed heart and motivation to improve your communication skills. It is clear, the more you do on your own between therapy sessions, the less time it will take you to achieve your goals. And that’s what you want, right?!
