It is so very important to CELEBRATE our DIPG SUPERHEROES! These kids are the real definition of the word strong, brave, and inspiring! Not only was OzzyFEST lucky enough to be graced by our own KING CASEN GULLETT and family, but it was extremely special to have the family of Amiyla Nelson an ultimate warrior as one of our very special guests of honor. Amiyla was a beautiful young lady who loved her family and friends, Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, Disney's Moana, loved to play basketball, going outside to play, she enjoyed horses, and her favorite color was pink. The other family that was able to attend as a special guest is a DIPG family very near and dear to our hearts. This is the amazing family of Santiago Buther. Santiago was a radiant beam of light, he loved family unconditionally, to dance, was an amazing soccer player, he loved to make people laugh and feel happy, and could make friends anywhere he went! Santiago's Dad & Mom (Eric & Cynthia Buther) were the first DIPG family that reached out to us after Ozzy's Diagnosis. As a matter of fact, they got a hold of us 3 days after we found out and Ozzy was still in the hospital. The love and support the Santiago Strong Foundation gave and still gives our family is immeasurable. They never left our side, would answer phone calls day or night, have continued to be a part of our lives and haven't forgotten Ozzy's fight. The SantiagoStrong Foundation has helped support and advocate for our family. This amazing foundation has been chosen for good reason to be the beneficiary of the funds collected at OzzyFEST so they can continue to work through the DIPG community. It was a beautiful night. We had the privilege to have 4 DIPG families (including our family) this year at our 2nd annual OzzyFEST. Families were from Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina, and Oregon. God is Good and we are so thankful for our community. Donations can still be made by going to https://www.kcu.edu/give/ select one time donation, and select KCU Nursing OzzyFEST.

And, please keep CASEN and his family in your prayers!

I would like to introduce the πŸ‘‘ πŸ‘‘ KING OF OZZYFEST 2025πŸ‘‘ πŸ‘‘....Ladies and Gentlemen... πŸ‘Š πŸ‘‘ CASEN GULLETT πŸ‘‘ βš”οΈ!!

We had the honor of hosting KING Casen and his family at our 2nd annual OzzyFEST hosted by the Kentucky Christian University Yancey School of Nursing. This was a night dedicated to CELEBRATE DIPG SUPERHEROES and their families!

It was a beautiful event with memories and smiles that I will carry with me forever. Watching Casen run around playing, dancing, singing, and having fun was absolutely incredible. Oh boy, and let me tell you, he walked in and totally owned the joint! It was awesome!!

A very big thank you to Casen and his family for allowing us to CELEBRATE this amazing SUPERHERO at OzzyFEST!!!

It takes a community to fight and we are fighting for these children against this awful monster called DIPG that we so desperately need a cure for.Casen has been diagnosed with the same brain tumor (DIPG) as Ozzy had. Please take a moment to read Casen's story written by his Mommy Haley below.

December 20, 2023 was the day that changed our lives. Approximately mid-October of this year, our 5 year old son, Casen, started having issues with his right eye not wanting to move outward. We were seen by an eye doctor and Casen had perfect vision so they made a referral to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for suspected Sixth Nerve Palsy or Strabismus (a problem with the muscles behind the eye). Our brave boy did not want to be sedated for the scan so they allowed him to try it without sedation. They started the scan and shortly after, the Radiologist came to talk to us and informed us that they had found a brain tumor, which meant that Casen would have to be put to sleep to finish the test with contrast. Casen has been diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) which is an aggressive and fast growing tumor that is inoperable and there is currently no cure. This tumor is located in the brain stem that is responsible for pretty much everything in your body; from breathing, walking, swallowing etc. The statistics with these tumors are awful and heartbreaking. We have told Casen, in age-appropriate terms, that the doctors found something in his brain that is causing his eye to not work correctly.

We are fervently seeking God's guidance in choosing the trial that is best for CASEN.

To know Casen is to love him. He is a friend to everyone, loves his family, and most importantly loves JESUS! His favorite song is "My Jesus" by Anne Wilson. While he was in the hospital after the initial diagnosis, he wanted to sing that song to thank everyone for praying for him (you can watch it on the FB link or on his YouTube Channel : Casens Adventure).

We are praying for Casen’s miracle and know that GOD is in control of this! ❀️ We ask that you join us in praying that God intervenes in our situation and we pray that each of you are abundantly blessed for your generosity.

You can follow our journey by using this hashtag on FB: (Casen chose the # himself)

We will leave you with the lyrics of Casen's favorite song:

MY JESUS

Are you past the point of weary?
Is your burden weighin' heavy?
Is it all too much to carry?
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
Do you feel that empty feeling?
'Cause shame's done all its stealin'
And you're desperate for some healin'
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
He makes a way where there ain't no way
Rises up from an empty grave
Ain't no sinner that He can't save
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
His love is strong and His grace is free
And the good news is I know that He
Can do for you what He's done for me
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
And let my Jesus change your life
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Amen
Amen
Who can wipe away the tears
From broken dreams and wasted years
And tell the past to disappear? Oh
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
And all the wrong turns that you would
Go and undo if you could
Who can work it all for your good
Let me tell you about my Jesus
He makes a way where there ain't no way
Rises up from an empty grave
Ain't no sinner that He can't save
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
His love is strong and His grace is free
And the good news is I know that He
Can do for you what He's done for me
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
And let my Jesus change your life
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Amen
Amen, Amen
Who would take my cross to Calvary?
Pay the price for all my guilty?
Who would care that much about me?
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus, oh
He makes a way where there ain't no way
Rises up from an empty grave
Ain't no sinner that He can't save
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
His love is strong and His grace is free
And the good news is I know that He
Can do for you what He's done for me
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
And let my Jesus change your life
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah, amen
Amen
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Let my Jesus change your life

Tomorrow is Ozzy's Birthday and this will be the first birthday without him on Earth to celebrate with us. My little sweetheart would have been 5 years old, starting kindergarten this upcoming year, making friends, thriving, living, and would still be with me for years to come if he wouldn't have had DIPG. I truly hate not having him every second of every day. I miss the way he smelled, the way he felt, the way he would touch, color and feel of his hair, his beautiful eyes staring right back at mine, the way you would laugh I love how silly he was, I miss hearing Ozzy sing, the way he danced, the way he played, I'll miss his sense of adventure, the way he loved his family, the way that he talked with that beautiful little voice, the way he said Mommy I love you, the way he hugged and kissed me, the way he told me it's okay Mommy Ozzy's here! Don't cry! Ozzy's here Mama! The way he made me feel like the most important and most special person in the whole universe.......I miss it all... every little thing about this little boy I will painfully miss until my very last breath! I wish I could have watched you grow up and turn into a young man like your brother. I wish I would have been able to see what you looked like growing up through the years. I wish I could have had more time to have spent every birthday with you until the day that I died. The tears are already going and I know I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight and know tomorrow is going to be even harder given the extremely crappy circumstances of reality. Thank you God for blessing Ozzy in our lives, even if it was for a short period. This little superhero changed my life forever and I'm honored to be able to be called his Mom. We severely love & miss him so much....this sucks so bad! Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers tonight and tomorrow. We LOVE You Ozzy Zeward Brown....My Sweetie Boy! I love you Oz!!
