Cerasee (bitter melon) has anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, is high in vitamin C, A, iron and phosphorus (helps with detox and constipation), helps kill parasites, cleans intestines and blood, reduced glucose levels in blood, fights colds and flu, helps with BP (hypertension), menstrual cramps and more.

The small melons are edible until ripened and are very bitter.

This plant will “clean you out” when you need it 🤣

There is no such thing as “False Labor”

STOP

that’s just rude and inconsiderate.

If you don’t understand physiology and the process of pregnancy and childbirth, go sit down or get another hobby cuz this ain’t for you.

Our bodies are making changes and preparing to birth a baby in the final phase of pregnancy and sometimes it gets a lil intense and then slows down and eases before the actual event happens.

There’s nothing “false” about that, what’s false are the words you speak when you say that to someone whose body is actually working and doing what it’s supposed to do to open up and birth a baby.

There’s no set time limits or indicators of what’s to come, so unless there’s something outside the normal physiological process happening that actually need support or attention, back off and let them do their thing.

We are a month away from the Global Big Latch On!!!

This year we will be hosting an online event, which will take place on our Latch On page - links and more information will be provided, Stay Tuned, South GA!!!!

June is our founder’s birth month and we are celebrating all month by raising money to help support more families with their pregnancy, birth and postpartum needs!

As many of you know, one of our goals is to be able to offer services to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, however, the birth workers who provide these services still need to earn income to support themselves and their families so they can continue their passion of supporting people and families.

Our fund became depleted very early on in the pandemic last year and we were unable to continue to offer financial compensation to birth workers who spent countless hours and put so much energy and effort into what they do. Some kept going regardless of an income, but many had to stay home.

As some of us are re-emerging into the community, we are encountering many new issues never seen before and navigating as best as possible, the big issue being brought up is finance - people still cant afford to pay, but need and want the services we provide.

Our main area of focus for the past four years has been in south GA. The maternal and infant morbidity and mortality rates in GA are astounding - some of the highest in the world. More than most third world countries and war torn countries. What does this mean??

More people die giving birth and being born in GA than anywhere else in the world.

We want to be able to offer more to the community - more education and support, resources and people who are knowledgeable and want to support families as they venture through their journey of pregnancy, birth and beyond.

Momcierge offers referrals for many services, including midwifery, doula, placenta encapsulation, childbirth education, lactation support, babywearing support, cloth diaper education, pre-pregnancy counseling and post partum support. (We will be bringing back infant safety and BLS later).

We also have training programs for people who want to become birth workers.

All the funds raised will go directly to the birth worker(s) providing the services to the person who applies for the fund.

Momcierge is a 501c3 and can supply donors with tax information for their donation.

For information on where to send donations by mail, email yourmomcierge@gmail.com

The Branches of our network have been reaching and stretching for some time as we grow and meet so many amazing people in south GA!

We are honored to present some of the wonderful people we have met and connected with that offer services and resources for families.

This introduction comes from a lovely doula and lactation counselor;

Hi, my name is Rachel Price and I live in Americus, Ga.

After 15 years of wanting to conceive, my miracle baby was born in 2016. We struggled so much with developing a breastfeeding relationship. I felt like there was nowhere to turn, no local support. I began watching educational videos, reaching out to moms on Facebook, and reading breastfeeding books. Between postpartum depression and anxiety and struggling to feed, I decided I didn't want other moms to suffer the same!!

Having experienced it all; mastitis, clogged ducts, improper latching...you name it... I armed myself with support and education and received my certification to become a breastfeeding counselor.

Just recently, in 2021, I became a certified Doula through Momcierge.

I've hosted Global latch ons, written for national breastfeeding websites, hosted breastfeeding classes, doula support classes, postpartum care dinners, and moms day out events.
I had to take a hiatus on classes, but we are back up and running.
I serve south Georgia and hope I can serve you, also.

I offer free support for low income families!! Most classes are free as well!

“I didn’t know y’all still existed”

“What’s a Midwife?”

“Why Homebirth?”

These are just some of the things I hear out here in the community as Im out and about meeting folks and I never tire of talking about what we all do in this community to offer support and resources to families.

What questions do you have?

The Branches of our network have been reaching and stretching for some time as we grow and meet so many amazing people in south GA!

We are honored to present some of the wonderful people we have met and connected with that offer services and resources for families.

This introduction comes from a lovely doula and student midwife;

Hi, I’m Bertha Yoder. My husband and I have 3 children whom we homeschool. We live out in the country on 1,200 acres where my husband works.
I’ve been a doula since 2018. I became a Homebirth midwife assistant in 2020 and was accepted into midwifery school in 2021!!!
I’ve always been interested in helping mamas & babies and always thought being a midwife is what I wanted to do but I got married, had babies, and was in the middle of homeschooling when my journey into birth work actually started.

I would often tell my husband “I want to work in the birth field but I don’t know what this will look like with children and a husband, since being a wife and mom comes first in my life”!

It all started at the birth of our youngest son. I had decided to try for a unmediated birth since my previous 2 births I had an epidural.
In the middle of active labor I was ready to give up. “This is too hard, I can’t do it” I told my husband. A nurse (who was not assigned to me)came into my room at that time and cheerfully said “ I hear you are our natural mama! I’m so excited since we don’t get many of y’all!” I told her that I’ve changed my mind and that now I want drugs! She said “ok! But let me first show you how to cope with labor and some breathing techniques!” She coached Ken and I through contractions and showed me how to cope! It was life changing for me!!! She left and I went on to have my unmediated birth and it was SO amazing! That was the hardest thing I’d ever done and I couldn’t have done it without that nurse coaching me!
After our son was born I told my husband “I know what I want to do! I want to be for other women what that nurse was for us!” She was someone who understands birth and the natural process of it, believed in me, coached me and gave me confidence to achieve my goals! For 9 years I talked about that nurse and wondered how I could be her for women. One day a friend told me “ oh you need to be a doula!” I had no clue what that was so I looked it up and loudly exclaimed “THIS IS IT!!” This is what I want to do! With my husband’s full support I took my doula training and became a certified doula & placenta Encapsulator

The birth work calling keeps getting stronger and I know I need to do more. My community needs more midwives, so after lots of prayer and research I applied to 2 midwifery colleges who are MEAC accredited and got accepted into both! I was thrilled to choose the one that best fit our family life!

I am a
Certified labor & birth doula
Certified Placenta Encapsulator
Certified Childbirth Educator
And a Student Midwife.
I serve all of central Ga.
