One of the unique characteristics of infant and early childhood mental health is that the theory and practice has been developed, expanded upon, and passed down from the minds of so many smart women. With March being Women’s History Month, we would like to celebrate some of the contributions these women have made to our understanding of young children.

Over the next twelve days we will share the 12 Principles of Early Childhood Development that were developed in 1959 by Selma Fraiberg in her book “The Magic Years” and later in 1993 expanded on by Alicia Lieberman in her book “The Emotional Life of the Toddler” and then shared in 2008 in the book “Psychotherapy for Infants and Young Children”
