We are participating in the The San Francisco Marathon this weekend! The CECC is an East Bay non-profit organization, providing sliding-scale mental health and educational support services for families and children ages 0-8.

Spending on early childhood programs provide a 13% ROI (return on investment) over programs provided to people later in life. (https://heckmanequation.org) This means that every little bit counts and can make an impact in a child's life and future!

We are grateful on behalf of the families, children and educators we serve for your support or for sharing this fundraiser with your network.

We are thrilled about this new grant funding for childcare providers in Alameda County! We appreciate all the hard work that went into making this happen and know this will make a huge difference in provider's ability to stay afloat during this time of uncertainty.

Tuesday, June 10, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved First 5’s plan to move ahead with distributing Measure C funds to expand access to early care and education in Alameda County. This is HUGE! This final hurdle unlocks Measure C voter-approved tax dollars that have been caught up in legal delays since the measure passed in 2020. Over the next five years, Measure C provides nearly a billion dollars in investment to support children, families, and child care providers. We are starting immediately to get these critical funds into the community as soon as possible. Today, First 5 Alameda County will begin accepting applications for grants to child care providers. One of the most important aspects of our job as a caregiver, parent or educator is to empower our children to be good citizens of the world and to ensure that all children feel safe. When our public figures act in ways that we wouldn't want our children to, here are some of our recommendations for having big discussions with little kids.
