A middle age female academic presents with chronic low
back pains. Her movement patterns reveal poor hip hinge and squat mechanics. Her lumbar paraspinals are hypertonic and inhibit her Glutes. Interestingly, she exhibits a ligament stretch response, suggestive of adrenal fatigue. Using Applied Kinesiology muscle testing protocols, I correlated this to active adrenal nerve root reflexes and not surprisingly also to T10 (the nerve supply to the adrenals is in this region).

To treat, I adjusted her hips and low back, Applied myofascial Decompression (cupping) to her lumbar paraspinals, and Rocktaped them. This allowed the Glutes to reinervate. I reviewed proper hip hinging and squatting movement patterns with her and suggested that she decrease her coffee intake, which is excessive. She also tested positively for an endocrine supplement support.
A wholistic treatment entails the Triad of Health: structure, chemistry & emotion. Sometimes the patient isn’t ready to hear that much information or to make that many changes. We need to meet them where they are.

Just returned from Benbow where I spent the day with #calesar and hundreds of other SAR volunteers. The two girls were found, healthy and back home. They were missing since Friday afternoon. I’m exhausted! Left Berkeley 4am and just returned 12 hours later. It feels good to help others in need, even if not directly, but as part of a larger organizational process.

15 year old athlete with chronic low back, pain that wraps around the left Glute and groin. Gradual onset over past 5 months. Worse after running.

Exam found the following:
Inhibited left Pectineus, Rectus Abdominus, Thoracic rotators.
Pectineus is reactive to Adductor.
Also inhibited left Gluteus Max and contracted pelvic ligaments. Left Superior to Inferior fascial pull around SI joint.
Ilium is Posterior Inferior.

Adductor is the primary offender.

Adjusted pelvis. ART to Adductor, Pectineus, Gluteus, pelvic ligaments.
SPRT taping of SI fascia.

1 week later, no more back pains. Only occasional Gluteal pain. Left Psoas is shortened and inhibits Gluteus. ART to Psoas. Rocktape Psoas and Gluteus. Taught Psoas stretch.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel , has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Please share this with your friends. It could save a life!

A 60 year old female presents with chronic right shoulder pains ever since a fall several months ago.

Testing reveals a right grade 4/5 anterior, posterior and middle Deltoid. The ipsilateral Upper Trap is hypertonic and inhibits the posterior Deltoid. The Rt AC & SC joints are subluxated, along with grade 4/5 Pec Minor and Subclavius muscles. These are found to inhibit the Middle and Anterior Deltoids.

Right Adductor inhibits bilateral Gluteus Medius, right Internal Obliques and lower lumbar Multifidus.
Right L5 facet Imbrication.

Contracted right sacral and lumbar ligaments. Inhibited left Flexor Hallicus Longus and Valgus Hallux (Bunion). The Flexor Hallicus is a major muscle in the foot that propels you forward. It is a lot larger and stronger than one would think.

On follow up, no more pain! Gave him #Rockfloss exercises for his left knee. Best to do preceding heavy squats at the gym.
