Today was the last day of business for Albany Pediatrics. We are thankful for the thousands of families that have trusted us with the care of your children for the last 36 years.

The property at 1801 Palmyra Road will continue under the management of Albany Area Primary Healthcare. Dr. Roberts will continue to see patients in the same location and at the same phone number that you are used to using. She may be reached for an appointment at 229-434-1400.

Dr. Hester has joined the healthcare team at CareConnect Health in Warner Robins, Georgia. He may be reached for appointments beginning mid July at 478-910-1090.

Albany Area Primary Healthcare has agreed to be the custodian of the records for Albany Pediatrics PC. Operations under their leadership begins July 1, 2022.

Effective immediately we will be discontinuing Saturday hours for the foreseeable future. A provider will continue to be on call for urgent questions or medical advice. Please call 229-434-1400 for instructions on reaching the provider on call after hours.

Please note that Dr. Roberts will not be leaving Albany. She will continue to practice and see patients. No action is needed on the part of any patient family to change doctors. Please inquire at our office if there are questions.

I would like to thank the literally thousands of patients and patient families that have entrusted their healthcare to me over the last seventeen years in Albany. Everyday you all were a reminder to me of why I practice as a pediatrician. With that being said, I believe that God is leading my family in another direction and we will be leaving the Albany area this summer. The exact date has yet to be determined but I will continue to see patients as scheduled until at least June 30, 2022. Further details to follow as they become available.

Thank you again for the trust, the hugs, the smiles, and the, "Hey Dr Hesters" that make a difference in my life every day. My time here in Albany will always hold a very special place in my heart. I've raised a family here, made friends, laughed often and cried occasionally with so many of you. I will miss you.

We are experiencing unprecedent volume at this time. We are making every effort to accommodate the large number of patients. If you have an appointment please arrive before your appointment time as our waiting rooms are closed secondary to Covid-19. Our ability to fit you back into the schedule if you are late is compromised by the large volume of patients. If you are sick please call to make an appointment as early in the day as possible beginning at 9 am.

At least one school in our area has sent our information informing parents that sports physicals from the last year have now expired and new sports physicals will need to be performed and on file for the upcoming school year. Many children missed their physicals over the last three months due to the pandemic. Please do not wait until the last minute to catch up well checks, physicals, camp physicals, and sports physicals. We have had many recent inquiries regarding sports physicals. I think everyone's expectation is that school and many sports will resume in the fall. If you may possibly need a sports physical for the upcoming school year (including recreational sports organizations like Pop Warner), please contact us. This also includes camp physicals (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church camp, etc). We will make every accommodation we can to get your sports physical completed in a timely fashion including on Saturday morning at 10 am when we typically are seeing acute emergencies. Beginning Monday May 4, 2019 we will be temporarily closing 15 minutes earlier in the afternoons. New office hours will be 9:00 to 4:30 pm. This is only a slight change from our normal schedule and we will resume the normal schedule at some point in the near future.
