Are you engaging your core correctly?

If you’ve ever been told to “engage your core” but weren’t quite sure what that actually means, this video is for you!

We’re talking about the transverse abdominis—your deepest core muscles. Correct core engagement is key for all functional movement, from lifting groceries to hitting the gym. These stabilizing muscles are the foundation for safe, strong movement.

Learning to activate them properly can help with:
✅ Reducing back pain
✅ Improving posture
✅ Enhancing balance
✅ Boosting performance in everyday tasks

Spotlight ⭐️

Team members from around our Portland Metro region spent this year’s PT Day of Service partnering with Go Baby Go, helping build modified ride-on toy cars to give young children with disabilities the gift of mobility and independence.

It was an inspiring day filled with teamwork, creativity, and smiles — all in the spirit of using our skills as physical therapists to make a difference in our community.

Community Outreach!

This last weekend we volunteered at a power lifting competition, hosted by physiq gym. We offered some manual therapies like taping, cupping, and scraping, as well as complimentary injury screenings for the athletes and gym members.

Friday was buck for kids, where partnered with to donate $1 for every drink sold on Friday. So, we wanted to give the staff Dutch bros! Many of our patients are members of the YMCA, and we saw this as a perfect opportunity to support two places who give back to our community!☕️
