Meet Kim, one of our wonderful volunteers at our Bennington, Vermont location! Kim has been serving with Alpha for the past two months, and we are so grateful for her heart to help.

When we asked what she enjoys most about volunteering, she smiled and said she loves folding clothes and keeping our boutique neat and welcoming for the moms and families who visit.

Outside of Alpha, Kim enjoys spending time with her fiancé, going for walks, and finding other ways to give back in the community.

Her quiet diligence and cheerful spirit help us maintain the warm, inviting atmosphere our clients experience the moment they walk through our doors. 💛

Just as we have prayer requests, we have SO many praises too! God is moving at Alpha, and we just have to share the good news with you!

• We celebrate as we had another baby born in our Schenectady Center!
• As a staff, we are in a very healthy place, and are in a really good "groove" right now. We are thankful for the little things.
• Praise for Jaime and Moriah officially transitioning to running our Schenectady Center! So grateful to have Jaime as the Center Director, and Moriah as the Assistant Director!

Every victory, big or small, is worth celebrating. Thank you for being part of the story — your prayers, support, and generosity are making a real difference!

This month, we are thrilled to highlight Lisa Carson, our Client Services Director!

When asked what she loves about Alpha, Lisa said, "We get to be the church outside the church, and I love that so much. I love the team I work with, and I wouldn’t be successful if it weren’t for the team that surrounds me."

"I get the opportunity to tell women that there is nothing that can separate them from God, and that they are embraced in his arms. Planting seeds and seeing the fruit of it years later is also something that truly inspires me."

Friends, we believe in the power of prayer, and we’d love for you to join us in lifting up Alpha and the women and families we serve each and every day. Here are just A FEW of the prayer requests we’ve gathered this week:

• Pray for our moms as school starts up, and that they have peace and a smooth transition
• For all of our centers to be able to make a connection in the local schools. We see so many teen pregnancies, and these girls don't know where to turn to. Pray that the Lord softens the hearts of the staff in the schools so we can make connections and come alongside these young girls.
• Our Cohoes Center has had some clients the last couple of weeks who are very vulnerable to abortion. We ask that the Lord protect the babies and show these mothers that they are worthy, that they are precious in his sight and that he can help them through all circumstances.
• Please continue to pray for our client who tried to abort and is now 24 weeks. May the Lord be her provider and show her next steps. She is trying to figure out housing, work, and what the future will look like when this baby arrives. We pray against the spirit of overwhelm, and we pray that the Lord directs her steps in peace.
• A woman came in undecided about her pregnancy. After an Ultrasound, we believe that she is miscarrying. The tears that ran down her cheeks said to us that she had a connection to this baby. May the Lord meet her as she grieves. May God meet her in her unresolved past and bring her healing.
• Pray that more monitor volunteers will come our way!
• For our Bennington Fundraising Night to be an event where Alpha and friends gather to celebrate and support the mission of life!

🧸 Handmade with Love 🧸

The blankets were lovingly handmade and donated by our sweet Lois, a 99-year-old woman who has created blankets for three generations of children. Though her youngest grandchild is no longer a baby, she continues to sew blankets for new babies here at Alpha with the same amount of joy and love!

Lois (and Alpha) knows that every baby is special and created to glorify God-at every age and stage of life.

A heartfelt thank you to Janet, Lois' daughter, for delivering these beautiful blankets to Alpha. Our moms and babies are sure to feel the love and legacy of Lois wrapped around them.

Friends,

Our hearts are heavy this morning. We mourn the senseless loss of Charlie Kirk, whose life was taken all too soon yesterday. Our hearts hurt for yet another school shooting here in the United States. And still yet, our hearts also turn to the memory of September 11th — a day that forever changed us, where so much was lost.

In these moments, when grief seems overwhelming, we are reminded that our true work is not built on anger, but on love; not on division, but on compassion. Whether in the face of hate or terror, our calling remains the same: to affirm the dignity of every human life, to reach out in kindness, and to mourn with those who mourn.

For all who have lost someone — whether someone well-known like Charlie Kirk or someone you held dear — may the peace that surpasses all understanding guard your heart. For those scarred by the memories of 9/11, may you find hope in the goodness that still shines even in the darkest hours.

At Alpha, we believe every life has value. We believe that kindness, justice, and love are stronger than violence and despair. If you are struggling, please reach out to a loved one or one of us at Alpha. No one should walk through these tragedies alone.

This month's Team Member we're highlighting is Moriah Anderson, the Assistant Director of the Schenectady Center! Moriah began working with Alpha earlier this summer, and when she's not at our Center, you can find her traveling or reading a good book with coffee in hand.
