Southwest Health District encompasses more than 6,000 square miles in Georgia's southwestern corner (bordering Alabama to the west and Florida to the south) and including the following counties: Baker, Calhoun, Colquitt, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Lee, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Terrell, Thomas, and Worth.

Southwest Georgia women who are 25 years or older, checkout the Georgia Family Cancer History Screening Program!
The Program is administered by the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education (CORE)’s Breast & Ovarian Cancer Genetics Referral Tool. Family history is assessed to identify those at risk for hereditary cancers and determine if genetic counseling or testing could be beneficial.
Step 1
Call Dougherty, Mitchell, or Worth County Health Departments or visit
www.GAgenescreen.org to schedule your free appointment.
Step 2
During your visit, your provider will ask questions about your family’s cancer history.
Step 3
Your provider will explain your results and recommend follow-up services.
