CETA, the Controlled Environment Testing Association, was founded on the principle of quality and that remains its hallmark for the future.

Controlled Environment Testing Association was established Fall 1992. It was developed to promote quality assurance in the industry through the exchange and dissemination of information on certification issues. Controlled Environments include cleanrooms, laminar flow devices, sterile ovens, tunnels, dryers, biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, containment suites, and other similar environments that require precision testing and certification.

HEPA Filter Integrity Testing: Don't Skip It

One of the most critical certification tests in controlled environments is HEPA/ULPA filter integrity testing—commonly called leak testing.

Here’s why it matters:
🔹 Even a tiny pinhole leak can allow significant microbial contamination.
🔹 Visual inspection alone can’t detect microscopic leaks.
🔹 Regulators expect documented proof of efficiency at the installation site—not just factory ratings.

Cutting corners on this test can put your entire cleanroom in jeopardy.

✅ Tip: Make sure the smoke detectors are off! (Ask your certifier about this. They can probably share some wild stories.)
