MHANYS was proud to attend and present at the New York State County Fire Coordinators Conference this year 🔥

We had the opportunity to co-present on mental health and wellness in the fire service alongside some true rockstar partners across New York State, continuing the conversation around supporting those who serve on the front lines every day.

While there, we also had the chance to tour the New York State Fire Training Academy. Seeing firsthand the intensity, skill, and dedication required in training was a powerful reminder of the commitment our fire service members bring to their communities 🚒

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important work and to learn alongside so many dedicated professionals 🤝

At MHANYS, we are committed to promoting mental health and fostering communities where people feel safe to express who they are without fear.

Breaking the silence starts with awareness, compassion, and action.

As budget discussions continue, it was another busy week of rallies at the Capitol for the 4% targeted inflationary increase.

Our Photofor4% initiative is gaining momentum as more legislators stopped by to take a picture and show their support for the behavioral health and human services sectors.

Join us as we continue our rallies until the final state budget is approved!

MHANYS was proud to present this past weekend at the Collegiate EMS Conference, hosted by Five Quad Ambulance at SUNY Albany.

It was a true highlight to connect with such passionate and driven student leaders, and it's inspiring to see mental health and wellness front and center in the future of EMS.

We were also honored to present alongside one of our New York State Department of Health EMS Fellows, Tom Corcoran, from the City of Watervliet Fire Department, who shared real-world insight from the field.

Applications are now open for the next cohort of the New York State EMS Mental Health Fellowship. If you are looking to build peer support, strengthen resilience, and lead wellness efforts in your agency, we encourage you to apply: bit.ly/4ttAaFS

MHANYS CEO Glenn Liebman and COO Melissa Ramirez presented Mental Health America’s 2026 Governor’s Leadership Award, honoring Governor Kathy Hochul, to New York State Office of Mental Health Commissioner Ann Sullivan, who accepted on the Governor’s behalf. The award recognized Governor Hochul for her outstanding leadership and commitment to mental health, as well as the significant investments to expand access to care.

“MHANYS is proud to stand alongside Mental Health America in honoring Governor Hochul for her extraordinary leadership and commitment to mental health that is leading the way not only for New York State but as a model for other states,” said MHANYS CEO Glenn Liebman. "Governor Hochul has overseen an extraordinary investment in community-based mental health services and the enactment of precedent-setting laws requiring insurers and health plans to provide timely appointments, restricting cell phones in schools, and new, stringent safety measures to protect youth online and from addictive social media platforms and AI chatbots.”
