MHANYS On The Move at FASNY 2025: Mental Health. Stronger Together.
We were honored to attend the 153rd Annual Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY) Convention in Hauppauge, Long Island, where the spotlight was on mental health—especially for our first responders. (fasny.com)

Firefighters Association of the State of New York President Eugene Perry has made mental health a cornerstone of his term with the theme “Mental Health. Stronger Together.” Drawing from his own experiences, Perry emphasizes that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Governor Hochul echoed this commitment, highlighting the critical need for mental health support for our first responders.

We also had the privilege of connecting with leaders like Chief Patrick J. Kenny and Chief Frank Leeb, both of whom have been at the forefront of integrating wellness into fire service culture.

This convention was a powerful reminder that there is no health without mental health. Mental health is just as vital as physical health in our first responder community. Together, we can break the stigma and build a stronger, more resilient support network.
