I often describe Reiki as a “digital exhale” for the body.

When we are grieving, our “fight or flight” response is often stuck in the ‘on’ position. This leads to exhaustion, brain fog, and a physical ache that sleep doesn’t seem to fix.

Reiki doesn’t “cure” grief—nothing does. But it does soften the weight. It provides a sacred pause where your energy can recalibrate. It’s a practice of “un-doing.” In my Inner Light or HeartLight sessions, we use Reiki to gently move the energy that grief has frozen in place.

It is quiet. It is safe. And it requires absolutely no talking.

If you’ve never heard of Reiki, the word might feel a bit mysterious. But at its heart, Reiki is a very simple, very old way of helping the body remember how to relax.

Think of it this way:
When we are under intense stress or grief, our internal “battery” gets drained, and our “wiring” gets tangled. We feel it as a literal ache in our chest or a constant state of exhaustion that sleep doesn’t touch.

What is it?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy practice. You stay fully clothed, usually lying on a comfortable massage table under a soft blanket. I use a series of hand placements—either lightly touching or hovering just above the body—to act as a conduit for healing energy.

How does it work?

1. It Clears the “Static”: Much like tuning a radio to a clear station, Reiki helps clear the emotional “noise” and “blockages” that grief creates.

2. It Recharges the Battery: It provides a deep sense of restorative rest, replenishing the energy you’ve spent just trying to survive the day.

3. It Signals Safety: By working with the energy fields around your heart and head, it tells your nervous system: “You can let go of the bracing now. You are safe.”

You don’t need to believe in it for it to work. You don’t even need to talk. You just have to show up and let yourself be held in the quiet.

Grief has a way of settling into the body, doesn’t it? 🤍

It can feel like a tightness in the chest or a weight on the shoulders that sleep just doesn’t seem to touch. Sometimes, the brain is too tired for “talk,” but the body is ready to let go.

In our Grief Yoga classes, we create a sanctuary for that release.

This isn’t about perfect poses or “getting it right.” It’s about creating enough safety within yourself to let your emotions move. We flow like a wave—honoring the sadness, the anger, and the love—until suffering begins to transform into a deeper appreciation for life.

Starting this business has been equal parts heart-led and humbling. 🤍☕️

I didn’t start with a perfect business plan or a polished strategy. I started from a deep calling to help people heal because I know what it feels like to carry a weight that doesn’t have a name yet.

A few things I’m learning as I build this space:

• Passion over perfection. I’m showing up as I am, hoping it gives you permission to do the same.

• Trusting the quiet. Every big decision usually starts with a deep breath and a lot of listening to my own intuition.

• Slow is okay. Building authentically matters so much more to me than growing fast.

• It takes a village. Your support—every comment, every “me too,” every time you walk into the studio—reminds me I’m on the right path. (Shout out to thank you for creating and allowing this space to breath life into my business)

I’ve realized that a business can be built from love, not just “hustle.” Every class and every 1:1 session at the studio just reinforces why I’m here.

If you’re looking for a place to just be to soften the edges and find a little steadiness the door is always open.

Healing grief isn’t about fixing yourself or trying to move on.

In my work, grief is met through the body, the nervous system, and gentle energetic support.

Alongside movement and breath, Reiki plays an important role in the healing process. Not as something that forces release, but as a way to support the body in settling, softening, and feeling safe again.

Reiki can help:
• Calm an overwhelmed nervous system
• Support emotional processing without reliving or rehashing
• Create a sense of being held and supported
• Gently restore balance when grief feels heavy or disorganising
• Meet grief without needing words

Many people come to this work feeling exhausted, numb, or disconnected from themselves. Reiki offers quiet support beneath the surface, allowing the body to do what it already knows how to do when it feels safe.

This work honours grief rather than trying to bypass it.
There is no rush. No expectation to be “okay”.
