Dr. Maggie McCarthy first learned about audiology in her undergrad program.

“I wrote a report on an article I had found, which was written by a Navy Lieutenant who I would one day be stationed with,” she recalls. “He mentored me through my first year of military service and was the person to place my specialty pin on my uniform at my commissioning ceremony.”

Dr. McCarthy joined Albany ENT & Allergy in 2021, and she especially enjoys working with patients. “One of my favorite parts of my day is when I can reassure a patient who has felt dismissed or belittled previously and help them understand what they're experiencing is real and why it's occurring.”

A self-described “small-town girl at heart,” Dr. McCarthy loves Ballston Spa, where she lives. She enjoys spending her vacation time “in the deep dark woods” with no internet, a book and a lake.
