We are the only practice in the region, with board-certified Mohs surgeons who specialize exclusively in the treatment of skin cancer. Skin Specialists of the Capital Region is a comprehensive dermatology practice offering medical, surgical, and esthetic services. In addition to our expert panel of board-certified general dermatologists and physician assistants, we are the only practice in the region with fellowship-trained, board-certified Mohs surgeons who specialize exclusively in the treatment of skin cancer. We have two convenient locations in Albany, NY.

Meet Dr. Dennis Kim - Your Expert in Mohs Surgery! ✨

Dr. Kim is a board-certified dermatologist and Harvard-trained Mohs surgeon. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Kim worked as a middle school math teacher for ten years before embarking on his medical training. He then received his medical degree from Stony Brook University and completed dermatology residency at the University of California at Irvine. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. During his time at Dana Farber, he was involved in multiple oncology trials for locally advanced and metastatic skin cancers. Dr. Kim also obtained a Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard School of Public Health where his research focused on melanoma skin cancer screening. Dr. Kim is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgeons and the American Board of Dermatology.

Dr. Kim is a native New Yorker, born and raised in Queens, NY. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors hiking with his wife, son, and Australian Shephard and is an aspiring BBQ pitmaster.
