Meet Alyssa, our new assistant at Healing Hands Chiropractic Center! She’s the jack-of-all-trades, the “Mother Hen” of the office and the reason everything magically gets done around here. If something needs fixing, finding, organizing, or rescuing—she’s already on it.

We are a family practice located in Guilderland, NY which means that we see newborns, toddlers, teenagers, adults, and elderly but our specialty is to work with expecting mothers. Dr. Jessica Kinkaid has a passion for working with pregnant women.
There are 3 main reasons why pregnant women get adjusted.
Pain. The baby grows very rapidly which stretches the moms abdomen and adds pressure to the lower back which can cause lower back pain, sciatica, numbness, round ligament/ groin pain or p***c bone pain. Chiropractic care can help with that!
Breech Baby. Many OBGYN’s and Midwives refer to our office when the baby is breech. Most providers won’t deliver a breech baby and therefore the mother would often need a C-Section if the baby doesn’t turn. While at our office, Webster Technique is performed which is a safe, gentle technique that aligns the pelvic bones and helps to equalize the tension on the muscles and ligaments which support the baby. After the adjustment, both mom and baby have more room. The baby often uses the room created to go from breech to vertex on their own. Mom’s often report decreased pain, increased comfort and increased ability to breathe (since there is more room around mom’s rib area!)
Ideal Birth. Each mother has a different idea of what their ideal birth looks like and quite frankly, the babies plan might be very different. Some moms want a home birth, water birth and/or natural birth without pain medication while others know ahead of time that they want to deliver in a hospital setting and receive the pain medication right away. Whatever your goals are, Chiropractic care can help you become more comfortable throughout your pregnancy in hopes of making your birthing plan a reality.
