Sagittarius is a mutable sign and carries its double bodied nature in the element of fire. This sign represents a time of year when the dominance of darkness still persists but there is a slight lightening of the dark. We are moving towards or facing the light. The Sagittarius person faces the duality of morality vs self involvement. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, this is Zeus territory. He is exalted in the sign of Cancer because this sign represents the womb, similar to the cave that sheltered and protected Zeus as an infant, a vulnerable time in his growth. The ideas birthed from Sagittarius also need proper nurturing so they can continue in the process of becoming. The exaltation sign of a planet will highlight the planet using the best angles and lighting possible. The planet has extra help here to conduct its duty for the Gods. It’s interesting, Jupiter has a second home in Cancer, but no planets are allowed to be exalted in the home of Zeus, Sagittarius. The father of Gods and Men shares his home with no one.

Ares was born without a father from Hera’s act of revenge. Zeus didn’t appreciate this, even though (he started it) he broke from tradition and birthed Athena from his mind, without a mother. When the brave and relentless Ares returns from battle on Olympus, Zeus looks at him in disgust. He said if Ares was not a son of Hera, he would have banished him from the company of the Gods. His status with the mother, the feminine is what saves him. Ares is at the heart of all conflict. He carries within him the necessity of separation.
Ares has a ln individual spiritual identity that can be hindered by the father or father-like structures within society (spouse or institutions) that stand as obstacles in their path, for the purpose of growth. The battle against the old laws (Zeus). Zeus is also triggered in this conflict by his awareness that once he is angered, he will behave just like Ares. The ancestral pattern that exists between them and the origin of Ares are important in determining the quality of his soil when he was planted. When we are not supported by the soil and sunlight conditions, we struggle to grow.
He manages to assert himself despite the restrictions, maybe the other Gods don’t appreciate his methods, but he fights for self so strongly because he acts as his own father, his own protector. His experience has taught him how to rely on self. The opposite sign’s ruler, Venus (Aphrodite) can provide a much needed path of relief for Ares. They engage in a hidden love affair, opposites do attract, don’t they?

Raisins for ferulic acid to reduce oxidative stress. Lowering blood pressure and providing quick bursts of energy. Dried fruit representing death of the old.
Whipped cream with cherry syrup for a touch of sweetness, softness and indulgence.

Capricorn is often tied to Kronos, he swallowed his children to maintain power. Capricorn is the feminine expression of Saturn (Aquarius is the masculine.) The Earth expression of Saturn is also represented by Amalthea, she was tasked with nurturing Zeus, the 6th child of Rhea. She is depicted as the sea-goat and is associated with the symbol of the cornucopia (the horn of plenty) filled with varied fruits, vegetables and herbs. Amalthea protects Zeus by locking him away from the outside world, to be nurtured in secret within a cave.
Rituals of protection were carried out by warriors, who danced and clashed their shields to drown out the tears of baby Zeus. Caves remind us that the most profound beauty and wisdom can exist in unexpected, overlooked places. There is hidden potential locked within, just waiting to be discovered. It acts as a portal between light and dark spaces. Capricorn and the Winter Solstice is a pivot point from the darkest point of light to the emergence and establishment of light.
If we refer to Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, we can see how our limiting beliefs can impact our clarity, state of mind and authority to make decisions. We learn lessons about the proper use of knowledge gained once leaving the cave. The brightness of the sunlight, illumination can be overwhelming, the pain of learning. We need to seize the knowledge for ourselves and have the proper discernment in its expression.

I can't stop laughing at Eileen Brennan's character, Mrs. Peacock. This is the t-square displayed through film. Professor Plum is acting as Jupiter in Cancer and Mrs. White smashing the glass is our Sun in Aries, our lovely Mrs. Peacock appears to be the Moon in Libra.. losing it over all of this Aries energy.

Virgo is the feminine earth expression of Mercury. This zodiac sign is focused on body alignment through a mental structure that provides order, an as above so below concept. Virgo is also a double bodied sign, representing the turn of the season. Double bodied signs like Gemini Virgo Sagittarius and Pisces are capable of seeing both sides, are very flexible and adaptable, although Virgo may be the least adaptable of the four, due to her earth nature. These signs hold the tension of the opposites. Virgos may hold this tension in a personal and professional capacity, finding independence within our partnerships, appropriate levels of practicality vs spirituality, the strength of our morals and the urge to abandon them entirely.
Virgo is associated with discrimination and judgment for purposes of finding the most intrinsic and effective path forward. Goddess Astraea is linked to Virgo, she lived amongst human beings during the Golden age where she saw little if any chaos and spent her time guiding the elders of the community to follow the laws of nature (connected to agriculture.) As darkness began to overwhelm human nature (the turn of the season and the loss of light,) Astraea observed and analyzed this behavior in disgust. How could they turn this beautiful Earth full of grace, into a wasteland? What a waste of time and substance. She made a decision to leave and let the humans fend for themselves. This can also represent the turning point the Virgo makes to explore the understanding of their opposite.

Mercury will transcend boundaries and Neptune prefers to travel by boat through endless waves of emotion. When we suffer, we feel it through every part of our being. Our words, our minds are flooded with it. Let’s reinforce our boat, our Neptune, so we can survive the isolation and depression that can come from our physical and emotional pain.
During these moments we cling to Neptune’s need for beauty and love. To show ourselves, that even though we are damaged, we still care, we still love. We still see the beauty in life. That we are willing to put in the effort. To love ourselves more now, than ever before.

Astrological reflection on current planetary alignments and emotional regulation. The planet Neptune is now in the sign of Aries, which is ruled by the planet Mars. Neptune will bring a touch of glamour, glory and dissolution to the sign of Aries during its 14 year transit.
Neptune will make squares to the signs Cancer (family/home) and Capricorn (public/reputation) an opposition to planets in Libra (partnerships/justice.) These changes may upset or activate others. Mars in its highest expression has found a suitable container for his anger and is able to protect and provide structure.
Neptune in Aries gives us a blend of hard and soft. Power suits in organza. Men draped in jewels, highlighting the beauty of the male physique. Embracing innovative ideas from young designers. Bringing the ocean or fire to the runway. The masculine qualities of structure can be seen in tailored pieces, strong shoulders, head accessories. The crown is the seat of authority. Some can choose to cover their crown to protect their thoughts, to prevent a blending of ideas.
We’re putting Aries on a pedestal which emphasizes doing, assertiveness and courage. Sometimes we have to block out the noise and go our own way. Use your discernment and move forward without fear.
