Mended Hearts is a community-based, nationwide heart patient support network founded in 1951. More than 18,000 members operate through 300 chapters and satellite organizations across the U.S., with one chapter in Canada. Recognized for its role in facilitating a positive patient-care experience, Mended Hearts partners with hospitals and cardiac rehabilitation clinics offering heart patient support

through visiting programs, group meetings and educational forums. The Mended Hearts mission is “Inspiring hope and improving the quality of life for heart patients and their families through ongoing peer-to-peer support.”

This week we're shining a spotlight on last year's Rock Your Scar winners❗️

👋Say hello to Lauren, the winner of our 40+ age category! Lauren was diagnosed at with an aneurysm of the main pulmonary artery at birth. Doctors had never seen her CHD and she was give a 1% chance of survival. Lauren would undergo open heart surgery at 3 years old. Fast forward to today, she is a happy and healthy 44 year old. In 2.5 years Lauren completed six marathons, including the New York City Marathon, pictured above. Lauren hopes her photo inspires younger CHDer's and show them that they too can have a happy, healthy, and thriving future❤️
