It's not every day that one turns 95 years of age, but, everyone's favorite school principal, Mr. Fred "Steve" Hopkins has reached this milestone with grace and vigor! 🥳🎉🎂💙

Mr. Steve, as he is affectionately known, has truly changed the winds here at The Taylor House Assisted Living! He has been with us just a little over a year, and he has seen miracle after miracle and glory upon glory!✝️

Besides having been a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy Medical Corps, during the Korean War conflict, Mr. Steve also served as an educator and administrator at the Endy School, retiring as the principal in 1987, as well as having been an active volunteer fireman with the Endy Volunteer Fire Department here in Stanly County. 🇺🇸

Following his storied career, he stepped into a very successful venture in real estate having developed multiple properties into subdivisions and communities. And to this very day, he is still fielding business calls at Hopkins real estate brokers. 🏡❤️

We are excited to see what he has planned next. With Mr. Steve, it's no telling what he will do, but, what we know is, he will be leading the way to every day!!!

On this beautiful Saturday morning Your Thriving Taylor House Community traveled to New London United Methodist Church as honored guest of their Abide Lunch and Fellowship! This month's theme was a Hawaiian Luau! ✝️🫂🌴🌸

We enjoyed a delicious catered BBQ meal, home-made dessert, Bingo, and fellowship with the community!

We were never created to do life alone!

Mr. Don Walter served this country with distinction aboard the USS Liberty in the 1960's protecting the United States interests in the Mediterranean Sea. 🇺🇸❤️

"Growth without change is impossible!"

As you may know, the building that houses Taylor House Assisted Living will turn 100 years old next year. 🎉

The charm that comes with an older building cannot be created in a new structure, and we are fortunate that our leadership continues to invest resources in it's upkeep allowing our uniqueness to Thrive!🏡

Our elevator, which is original to the building, has had its ups and downs (pun intended).
It has out-lived its expecting lifespan, and with each repair, finding and even making parts have become more difficult... Therefore, we have decided to have a new elevator installed!!!

The new elevator and indoor fire excape will be located at the end of the hall on the west wing; this is the right hall as you enter the front of the building.

The existing elevator will remain in operation as long as it has life in its gears!

In the meantime when you visit please park in the front parking lot.

Staff Spotlight...💡🔦✨
Welcome Our Newest Thriving Team Member...April Anderson is now serving as our Chaplain!

April has lived in NC all her life, was raised in Stokes County, and is the youngest of four.

April and her husband John have been married for thirty-two years and they have one daughter named Andrea.

April's education includes:
*Bachelor's in Science with concentration in social work.
*Teaching/Licensed in Special Education.
*Masters in Divinity with concentration in Chaplaincy.

April is an active member of Hope Community Church in Winston-Salem and she has taught youth for over three decades. She and her husband are also leaders of a small group within their church.

A part of April testimony is she is a walking miracle...In 2016 she was hit head on and pushed into the pathway of a Mack truck who hit her car on the driver's side. April was diagnosed with a brain bleed with the first MRI. A second MRI was performed later that evening...after her Tribe of Hope prayed that MRI showed no bleeding on the brain and she walked out of the hospital the next day! 🙌🎉❤️

We at Taylor House look forward to growing more in the knowledge of Christ and sharing more of His Goodness!
