The guys at Carolina Farms #3 had a fabulous time at the beach! For one individual this was his first time at the coast and the others had not been in many years. They enjoyed time on the beach catching waves and playing in the sand, eating out, and a visit to the aquarium at Fort Fisher. It’s safe to say they all had fun and enjoyed their time together! A special thank you to the Direct Care Staff for providing a wonderful experience for the individuals we support at GHA.

We celebrated National Intern Day with our Uwharrie Bank Interns on their final day. They presented an innovative project that would benefit our community and GHA. In addition to their project, they helped organize files at GHA for their community service component. We appreciate the partnership with Uwharrie Bank and have enjoyed hosting these wonderful student interns over the last six weeks.

What better way to beat the heat than with a little friendly competition and a sweet treat? Today, individuals and staff from GHA Autism Supports had an absolute blast playing putt-putt and cooling off with delicious snow cones at Pelican’s SnoBalls in Albemarle!

From hole-in-ones to lots of laughs, everyone enjoyed the putt-putt course and loved choosing their favorite icy flavors—Blue Raspberry, Tiger’s Blood, and Birthday Cake were crowd favorites! It was the perfect way to soak up the sunshine, stay cool, and make wonderful summer memories together.

Here’s to more summer adventures with our GHA family! 💙

We are thankful for our partnership with Uwharrie Bank and the four college interns that will be with us weekly through the end of the month. Interns are learning about GHA by touring some of our facilities and meeting with staff, helping with miscellaneous activities, and having fun with the individuals we support at GHA! We appreciate Uwharrie Bank’s dedication to our community and support their “Community Difference Maker” approach.

Why not have a party or gathering "just because"? That's exactly what one of our individuals we support in our Wilmington program decided to do. She planned, budgeted, shopped and help decorate for the the "Just Because" party. Not only was it a fun time with delicious food for all, but also an opportunity to gain valuable skills.
