We were honored to welcome Alabama Senator Andrew Jones and his wife, Summer, for a visit and tour of our Inpatient Unit. Serving nine counties, including DeKalb and Etowah in his district, we appreciate the opportunity to share how Shepherd’s Cove Hospice provides compassionate care to our community. Senator Jones even treated us to a beautiful piano performance during his visit. Thank you, Senator and Mrs. Jones, for taking the time to learn more about our mission.

“As nurses and as leaders, we know firsthand how vital our Home Care Aides are to the heart of hospice care,” shared Amanda Pendergrast, IPU & Facilities Director, and Jessica Knot, Homecare Director. “Our HCAs provide the kind of care that speaks volumes — with gentle hands, compassionate hearts, and a deep understanding of dignity at life’s end.”

Whether in homes or in our inpatient unit, CNAs are often the ones holding a hand, offering comfort, and making sure our patients feel seen and cared for. Their work is sacred, and we are deeply grateful for the skill and love they bring to our team and to our mission every day.
