Today, we celebrate the physicians who walk alongside us in some of life’s most meaningful and tender moments. Happy National Doctors Day!

We are incredibly grateful for all of the physicians we partner with, who trust us to care for their patients and families with compassion and dignity.

A special thank you to our Medical Director, Dr. Messalina C. Jordan, "Dr. J", whose steady presence makes such a difference for our team and those we serve. She leads with both excellence and heart, and we are so thankful for her.

We are also proud to recognize our amazing medical team, including Dr. J, Dr. Jessica Sparks, Nurse Practitioner Allison Glassco, and our CEO and Nurse Practitioner, Stormy Hester. Each of you brings dedication, expertise, and genuine care to our mission every single day.

Thank you for the way you show up, for the lives you impact, and for the compassion you bring to this work. We could not do what we do without you!

We are incredibly honored to receive the 2026 Wendell R. Glassco Spirit of Giving Award from United Way of Marshall County - Alabama.

At Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, we believe caring for our community means more than providing end-of-life care. It means walking alongside families through grief, supporting quality of life through palliative care, and partnering with other nonprofits to strengthen the place we all call home.

Thank you for this recognition, and thank you to our staff, volunteers, and supporters who make this mission possible every day. Together, we are building a stronger, more compassionate community!

Choosing hospice is one of the hardest decisions a family will ever make. Choosing who will care for your loved one shouldn’t add more stress.

At Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, our team surrounds patients and families with compassionate care, guidance, and support every step of the way. We believe hospice is about more than medical care; it’s about dignity, comfort, and helping families make the most of every moment.

When the time comes, you deserve a team you can trust.

While our Inpatient Unit (IPU) is a special place designed for short-term symptom management and end-of-life care when patients need close medical attention, it is only one part of what we do.

The majority of Shepherd’s Cove Hospice patients receive care wherever they call home. Our care teams serve patients in private homes, assisted living communities, and skilled nursing facilities throughout our region.

Nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers come alongside patients and families to provide comfort, guidance, and support throughout the hospice journey, not just at the very end.

Our goal has always been the same, to meet patients where they are and provide compassionate care that focuses on comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

As a social worker, Lindsey Graham has walked alongside families as they navigate some of life’s most complex and emotional seasons.

The newly promoted Palliative Care Director serves families every day who are juggling multiple roles as caregivers, decision makers, and sources of strength for the people they love. Through her work in palliative care, our in-school program, bereavement support, and counseling at Shepherd’s Cove, Lindsey has seen firsthand how important it is for caregivers to have support, too.

Part of Lindsey’s passion comes from her own personal growth journey through counseling, an experience that shaped her desire to help others find the same kind of healing and support.

Today, she is committed to creating a safe space for caregivers and families, offering tools, resources, and compassionate guidance to help them navigate difficult moments with confidence and care.

We are grateful for Lindsey’s leadership, her heart for families, and the way she continues to pour that support forward into our community.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments are the quiet ones.

A favorite song. A hand to hold. A slow dance in the living room.

At Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, we believe every moment matters.

Our team walks alongside families so they can focus on what matters most, being together.

Because love does not stop at the end of life.

Happy National Social Work Month!

Today, we celebrate the incredible social workers of Shepherd's Cove Hospice, Palliative, and Grief Support programs.

Our social workers walk alongside families during some of life’s most tender and challenging moments. They provide guidance, advocacy, emotional support, and a steady presence when it matters most. Whether serving patients at the bedside or supporting children, teens, and adults through grief, their compassion and professionalism make a lasting impact in our community.

To show our appreciation, they were celebrated with a special lunch catered by Papa Dubi's, a small token of gratitude for the big difference they make every single day.

Please join us in thanking our social workers for the heart, strength, and hope they bring to Shepherd’s Cove and to the families we serve!

We missed those who could not join us today!
