Do I need to go to the Emergency Room if I think I have the flu?

In most cases, no. The Emergency Room is meant for patients who are very sick or experiencing life-threatening symptoms. If your symptoms are mild, the best step is to schedule an appointment with your primary care provider.

If you are experiencing emergency warning signs (as shown in the graphic) along with flu symptoms, please seek care at your nearest Emergency Room immediately.
