Dr. Mo here and I just have to take a moment to give a shout out to my awesome team.
Over the last 12 weeks, we did a staff 12 week weight loss challenge. Each person who participated paid money per weigh-in and the plan was that whoever lost the most % body weight at the end of the challenge would win the cumulation of money PLUS I would give the winner 3 EXTRA PTO DAYS.
Well today ended our weigh-ins and I wanted to give some stats.
Total weight loss- 81.4 lb
Average weight loss- 20.35 lb
I am SO PROUD of our little team! They incorporated eating out less, cutting calories and carbs, walking and getting more active, plus some added medications to help along the way...but THEY DID IT.
Someone please help me give them a hoorah!
Losing weight is HARD. It's mindset and determination. It's effort. It's emotional and it's self-control. It is all the things and we at Dove want you to know that WE GET IT. If you have ever tried to lose weight before, you understand. We are by no means weight loss specialists and have weight concerns of our own.
But, if we did a weight loss challenge similar to this in the future, who would want to join? What should the prize be and what would work well to motivate our community to work toward a healthy weight. Should we make it open to non-members?
I will be honest, I did that 100 day weight loss challenge a while back with about 13 patients and it WORE ME OUT. I would not do it the same way I did before but would still want to bring some motivation and education to some folks seriously wanting to lose weight.
Sometimes a good challenge is the answer. Let me know!
